The Eco-villa of Quinta do Marvão combines luxury with eco-friendly atmosphere. With an unique location in the top of the valley, it has an amazing view extending more than 140 km. In addition, the front of the house is all-glass, offering even from inside the house a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding nature reserve. The Eco-villa has 2 suites (2 bedrooms with private bathrooms), and one big living room, with kitchnette. It has a fireplace, a private swimming pool for exclusive use of the Eco-villa and barbecue facilities. Outside, there is a large terrace, of more than 60 m2, where you can enjoy in the stunning view and surrounding nature. Besides, within the property of Quinta do Marvão there are beautiful rare bird species that are the delight of lovers of birdwatching. There are hiking, horse riding, cycling and bird watching opportunities in the hotel's vicinity. Although Quinta do Marvao is situated in the natural park and ecological reserve, it is very close to major urban centers (3 km from Marvão). Badajoz-Talavera La Real Airport is 75 km away, and the guesthouse offers free private parking on site and free wifi.

Recomendo vivamente. A casa é muito bonita e a paisagem é linda. Foi óptimo poder desfrutar do alpendre e da piscina com a vista fantástica em frente. Muito próximo da vila do Marvão, Castelo de Vide e de muitos outros locais de interesse cultural e paisagístico. A dona da casa é extremamente simpática e o processo de check in e check out foi muito fácil. .

An excellent experience

The location of the property is superb - it is a 25 minute walk (uphill) to Marvão, and a 10 minute drive to Castelo de Vide. Portagem, which is less than 5 minutes away, also has plenty of amenities. The Eco Villa was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Irene's directions were excellent and we had no problem finding it. We had been concerned about the lack of aircon, especially as we were travelling with our four-year-old daughter. However, the interior was pleasantly cool the whole time, even though it was 35 degrees outside. We didn't feel we needed aircon. The views are spectacular, especially when enjoyed from the pool. Even though the eco villa is close to the main property, it is completely private and felt very secluded and tranquil. Irene is a great host. She was in regular contact with us both before we arrived and whilst we were staying. We were very well looked after. We travel to the Marvão region often, and we are certain that we will return to Irene's property again soon.

Maison confortable, lieu idéal pour se reposer. Marvao est accessible à pied, avec un peu de marche, sinon à 10 mn en voiture. Le soir c'est agréable, ça mérite d'y faire un tour. La propriétaire est joignable très facilement pour toutes demandes. Nous avons apprécié. Le couché du soleil est magnifique, juste en face, c'est une merveille. Maison fraîche malgré la chaleur. Très bien isolée, mur en paille. Nous recommandons.

Wir wurden von den Eigentümern sehr warmherzig, hilfsbereit und unkompliziert empfangen. Das Haus hat eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, welche für die Erwachsenen sowie auch für die Kinder spürbar war. Der kleine, aber saubere und erfrischende Pool war stets für eine Abkühlung gut. Die Lage und der Ausblick vom Haus aus ist besonders schön. Der Aufenthalt war wunderbar und nur weiterzuempfehlen.

Lovely house and gracious hosts in an unspoiled beautiful Alto Alentejo valley

We spent a week in a lovely appartment in the main house with its big, sunshaded terrace overlooking the stunningly beautiful Vale de Rodao. Our hosts, who live on the premises, made us feel very welcome. The Quinta de Marvao is just minutes away by car from Marvao itself and ideally situated to explore the archaic villages and little towns in the area, and there are a number of hiking paths to discover on foot. However, we often could not tear ourselves away from the ever changing, amazing light in the valley playing on the rocks, the oaks and olive trees and just sat on the terrace watching birds, listening to nature's sounds over a bottle of Alentejo wine. We greatly enjoyed the stay and can highly recommend it.

Wonderful place

The house was wonderful and beautifully located. The pictures don't show the amazing landscape and surroundings. Very warm and confortable. All rooms have great view to the valley which is perfect when there are 2 couples. Irene and Jorge the owners were very helpful and friendly all the time we were there. I strongly recommend this place for some quality days of rest!

A marvellous place!

The Eco-villa is just wonderful! The house is beautiful, the view is breathtaking, the peace and the silence are unique! The swimming pool is excellent, and the hosts are so nice! We loved each moment we spent there and we just wish we could stay more days!

Un paraje envidiable para descansar

Dos semanas pudimos disfrutar de ésta casa con una serie de comodidades y una tranquilidad encomiables. Una propiedad con una casa preciosa, barbacoa, y una piscina exterior con agua pura... todo un lujo en la que aliviar el calor. Las vistas de todo el valle, increíbles. La casa en su interior está decorada con una sobriedad y un gusto exquisito. Todo muy limpio y en muy buen estado. Además, tuvimos la suerte de disfrutar de la compañía de Irene y George, un simpático matrimonio portugués que nos abrió las puertas de su casa de par en par. Pudimos disfrutar de su compañía en varias ocasiones. Tuvimos un recibimiento espectacular y una atención inmediata ante cualquier duda o inquietud. Mi sugerencia es confiar plenamente en los consejos de ambos para hacer excursiones, visitas a localidades cercanas, lagos, ríos y restaurantes para todos los gustos. Un sitio para recomendar sin lugar a dudas y para regresar... De hecho nosotros así lo hicimos, pues primero estuvimos una semana y al cabo de diez días regresamos para volver a disfrutar de todo aquello una vez mas.
