Idyllic Tuscan setting, gracious hosts
The apartment was clean and roomy and the location was simply beautiful. The drive through the Tuscan countryside to reach Pomarance was wonderful and we wished we'd had more time to spend there. We had the breakfast offered by our attentive hosts (7 Euro each) and it was delicious and eaten in a gorgeous location. We made the short drive (25 minutes) to Volterra and enjoyed visiting that ancient city.
Right at the property, the apricots were ripe, the hay was being cut and baled, and the wheat field was waving in the breeze. The larger view was gorgeous as well, showing the typical Tuscan country side complete with vineyards and olive trees. We were a bit surprised to see a power plant in the distance, but in our view it didn't detract.
Practical items - we appreciated the well-furnished apartment with 2 bathrooms, which was perfect size for our family of 5 (all three of our children are young adults now). The pool and grounds were very well taken care of. We were bummed that the pool hours ended at 8pm, but it was a little too chilly for the pool after that time anyway. Our bed was VERY hard and I expected to be sore, but surprisingly slept very well. We were woken relatively early in the morning by the sounds of a rooster and of a tractor cutting grass somewhere on the property, but didn't mind. Grocery store was about 5-10 minutes away in Pomarance.
We'd definitely stay here again.
