Perfect home base for exploring Tuscany w/private pool

This interesting and beautiful stone-built house is peacefully located in the country side just 1 km way from the mediaeval town of Colle Val d’Elsa.

Casavico is the result of a recent renovation which has transformed this ancient barn (once belonging to the nearby farmhouse where the owners live) into a beautiful and most comfortable semi-detached cottage with private swimming pool available from April to October, ideal for spending a relaxing holiday in the very heart of Tuscany.

Internally the house offers comfortable and cosy rooms, is well furnished in rustic style and provided with all modern facilities such as sat. flat TV, Wi-Fi internet , dishwasher & washing machine.

The house, completely fenced and provided with an automatic gate, offers a nice and panoramic garden with a furnished terrace to relax and eat outside, an 8 shaped swimming pool (m. 6 x 9,25 x 1.35 depth) and a parking area.

ACCOMMODATION: 95 m2 / 5 pax

Ground floor: access into the dining area with two archways, one communicating with the living area with access door onto the terrace and garden, and the other one with the kitchen; 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower; laundry room with washing machine, large washing basin and iron & board.

First floor: 1 twin bedroom, 1 single bedroom, 1 small bathroom with bathtub (minimum and maximum ceiling height 120 cm - 175 cm).

Ideally situated for visiting the most renowned historical and art centres in Tuscany as well as many other smaller characteristic villages in the Chianti region, and within easy reach of the 'Siena - Florence' dual carriageway (4 km).

Colle Val d’Elsa, situated at approx 1 km away, offers all kinds of services including restaurants,

supermarkets, golf course, tennis, horse riding, etc.

Perfect house for a familie vacation

The hosts are verry friendly, good swimming pool, airconditioning in all of the rooms are optional, the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. It's outside the centre and you need the car for groceries and to go eat out.

Ein traumhafter Urlaub

Wir hatten einen traumhaft schönen Urlaub in diesem Haus. Piedro hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen und war immer zur Stelle, wenn wir Hilfe benötigten. Das Haus und das Grundstück sind wie beschrieben und wir, sowie unsere beiden großen Hunde haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Was uns leider etwas störte, waren wirklich die Hunde drumherum. Das Hunde bellen ist absolut normal, aber die Hunde drumherum (7 Stück) haben einen Alarm gemacht, sobald wir mit unseren dran vorbeigingen, dass es nur noch nervte, weil es einfach laut war und unsere Mädels nur genervt davon waren. Wir möchten hier keine Kritik, sondern Verbesserungsvorschläge schreiben: es sollte dafür gesorgt sein, dass man die Aussenbeleuchtung auch nach starkem Regen anschalten kann, denn wir konnten die ganze letzte Woche keine Außenbeleuchtung anmachen, weil nach einem Tag Unwetter die Sicherung rausflog und wir eine halbe Stunde im dunkeln saßen. Das gleiche gilt für die Erklärung einzelner Schalter, die uns nicht erklärt wurden, da die Sicherung wieder rausflog, als man das Einfahrtstor am Schalter direkt am Tor und nicht mit dem Sender öffnen wollte. Es dürften auch gerne Kellen etc. aus Metal, anstatt aus Plastik und ein paar Schälchen zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Doch trotz alledem würden wir es wieder Buchen und haben es auch weiterempfohlen!

Immer wieder...

Schönes Haus mit ausreichend Platz für 4 Personen, wobei man für das obere Schlafzimmer und Bad wirklich nur 170cm groß sein sollte (geht aber auch mit 180cm...). Ausstattung entspricht der Beschreibung, WLAN recht instabil. Hundegebell in der Gegend recht laut, ansonsten wirklich ruhig, wir haben es wirklich genossen.

A touch of Tuscany

This is a lovely property with a great pool which is warm and of a good size. It has everything you need to have a relaxing break. You will need a car as it’s not really walkable to town which is about a 7 minute drive away. some of that journey is on an unmade road which is very dusty. The town itself is lovely with the Old Town being well worth the visit. Overall a great venue for a really relaxing trip only an bourse from Florence and 1.5 hours from Piza. Thank you

Samen met onze 2 dochters van 18 en 20 jaar hebben we een fantastisch verblijf gehad. Toplocatie overal dichtbij, en we hebben genoten van het zwembad.

Schöner, ländlicher Urlaub

Schönes Haus, sauber und gut aufgeteilt, mit einem Schlafbereich unten und einem oben, jeweils mit Bad. Der Vermieter hält das Haus, den Garten und Pool sehr gut in Ordnung. Das Haus liegt mitten auf dem Land, daher gibt es eine ländliche Geräuschkulisse (Hunde bellen, Landmaschinen fahren vorbei), das sollte nicht stören. Wir haben die 2 Wochen in dieser ländlichen Umgebung sehr genossen. Der Vermieter wohnt in der Nachbarschaft, wir konnten aber tun und lassen, was wir wollten und fühlten uns völlig ungestört.

Perfekt für Urlaub mit dem Hund

Tolles Haus, sehr nette Eigentümer. Sprachbarrieren Dank moderner Technik kein Problem. Leider haben oft Hunde gebellt, das hat uns etwas gestört. Deshalb perfekt für einen Urlaub mit Hund.

De woning is eenvoudig maar voldoende, alhoewel horren voor de ramen wel wenselijk zouden zijn. De dichte nabijheid van de andere woningen komt op de foto’s niet tot uitdrukking. De daarbij horende blaffende honden, auto’s en mensen waren voor ons een minpunt. Om de omgeving te verkennen was de lokatie perfect en de gastvrouw respecteerde je privacy. Nog een tip, misschien handig een map met waar je het vuil moet laten en andere handige wetenswaardigheden.

schön, aber mit Schönheitsfehlern

Wir hatten das Haus im September 2019 für 2 Wochen gemietet. Der Check-In gestaltete sich schwierig, da die Kommunikation nur in Italienisch erfolgen kann. Es hat aber funktioniert, dank Händen und Füßen und Übersetzungs-App. Fehlende Ausstattungsgegenstände wurden dank freundlicher Vermittlung der Verwalter Villas in Med durch den ebenso sehr freundlichen Davide unverzüglich zur Verfügung gestellt. Nicht helfen konnte man uns, deutschsprachiges Fernsehprogramm zur Verfügung zu stellen. Leider war auch das WLAN selten konstant. Bei dem Haus handelt es sich um eine einfache, aber zweckmäßig ausgestattete Doppelhaushälfte, bei der die zweite Haushälfte von einer italienischen Familie (2 Erwachsene, 1 Jugendliche) dauerhaft bewohnt ist. Daher ist damit zu rechnen, dass in dem Nachbarhaus auch Handwerkstätigkeiten oder Feiern, wie zu der Zeit unseres Aufenthaltes, stattfinden. Nicht immer auszublenden waren auch die häufigen, in einer hohen Lautstärke geführten zwiegespaltenen Selbstgespräche des Kindes aus dem Nachbargarten. In den Nachbarhäusern der Ansiedlung finden sich rund 6 bis 8 Hunde, die sich gerne am frühen Morgen zu einem "Konzert" verabredet haben. Dies auch wiederholt über den Tag, was schon etwas störend empfunden werden kann. Die Gestaltung des Außenbereiches (Pool, Grill, Garten, überdachter Sitzplatz) haben uns aber für vieles des vorgenannten entschädigt und uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Nähe zu den toskanischen Zentren wie z.B. Florenz (1 Stunde Fahrzeit mit dem Auto) kann ebenfalls positiv erwähnt werden.

Schöne Toscana

Das Haus war für uns (2 Erw. + 2 Kinder) von der Größe optimal. In der oberen Etage war es aufgrund der hohen Temperaturen tagsüber immer sehr warm, was das Einschlafen unserer Kinder nicht unbedingt begünstigte. Die Vermieter sind sehr angenehme Leute, welche gleich ein Haus weiter wohnen. Die Kommunikation war aufgrund unserer fehlenden Kenntnisse der italienischen Sprache (Englisch hat nicht geholfen) etwas holprig, jedoch mit Hilfe eines Online-Translators keine Hürde. Das Haus ist top ausgestattet, alles was man braucht ist vorhanden. Schön wäre noch eine Broschüre mit nützlichen Infos gewesen, z.B. wo der Müll entsorgt werden kann (hier haben wir erst Google befragen müssen, da uns der Sohn der Familie sonst wohin geschickt hat, aber auch hier haben wir uns vielleicht aufgrund der fehlenden Sprachkenntnisse missverstanden). In der Dämmerung und am Morgen kommen die Mücken, das Anti-Mücken-Spray nicht vergessen! In der Umgebung werden überall Hunde gehalten, die morgens auch schon einmal den eigenen Schlaf unterbrechen. Um das Haus zu finden ist ein Navi mit der Möglichkeit der Eingabe der Koordinaten notwendig, da es schon etwas abseits der Stadt liegt und nur über einen Schotterweg erreichbar ist. Für die Erkundung der Toscana bzw. für Tagesausflüge ist die Lage jedoch top. Der Pool ist für Kleinkinder ungeeignet, da er eine durchgängige Tiefe von ca. 1,40m hat. Dieser hatte für uns aber auch den Vorteil, dass unsere Tochter schwimmen gelernt hat und unser Sohn tauchen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Underbart hus som ligger på landet strax utanför colle di val d’Elsa. Härlig miljö, fint hus med pool. Vi trivdes utomordentligt bra. Hjälpsam och trevlig värd.

Gutes Landhaus mit schönem Garten und Pool

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist sehr gut. Ab und zu ist tagsüber mit landwirtschaftlich bedingten Lärm zu rechnen. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und auch die Betreuung über Antonio von Villa in Med ist perfekt.

Outstanding property with a beautiful pool

Casavico is a beautiful property which is maintained and looked after by the owners to an incredibly high standard. We had a fantastic holiday here and could not fault anything, the pictures on the web site do not do the property justice. The local area is lovely, we recommend the restaurant in the old town at the top of the gate tower we ate their 4 times. This property is located in a perfect spot to explore the local area, Pisa, Florence, Montalcino, Siena , Chianti region and many more places. All beautiful I wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely be coming back.
