Fab pool

We love the area and the beaches specially Royan and surrounding beaches . The pool was fab and my grandchildren loved it and spent lots of time swimming etc . The property was disappointing , it was an old property that needs lots of updating , a downstairs shower that was so grubby , and mattresses and pillows that had stains on them , I was told that there was mattress covers but I thought that was for prevention not cover up . The whole place needs a thorough clean . We made the most of a situation we had not been in before because of the grandchildren . Not sure I would use VRBO again . judith Meeten

Dear Judith, Sorry for your disappointment but we responded quickly to your query about the pillows by buying new ones right away. We informed you that, because the house is closed quite often, the humidity is the reason for these little stains. Sorry for the old property but it is clearly an old charentaise house and not a contemporary house. We hope you had a good time and that these disappointment didn't disturb too much your grandchildren and you. We take notes and we will be careful for the future. Best

2 weeks in the sun

Loved the outside area, pool is lovely and welcome with the heat in our 2nd week (~38C). Eating outside, under the cover of the wisteria plant was also a pleasure to avoid the sun. House is nice, particularly eating and living areas although the kitchen could be equipped better (utensils, mugs etc), but we managed ok. The house is old, but is in keeping with the other buildings in the area. However there are elements of the house that would benefit from being updated, e.g shelving in bathrooms, which are a little unattractive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there, making the most of the pool and appreciating the peaceful surroundings. There was no TV, which we somehow overlooked in the description, but the children (15, 13 & 11) were more disappointed in the speed of the internet. This is a rural location so no fibre connectivity for internet available - mostly ok for email/text messages, but not so good for children wanting to play internet-connected games. We found 4G mobile connectivity to be faster and used that some of the time. The area was nice, with lovely beaches around 30 minutes away, a pleasant local town (Gemozac) with a lovely restaurant (La Florentine) and other areas of interest locally and further afield. The host was good - responded quickly to a couple of small issues we had. I've given 3 stars overall as 4 feels a little high, however, I would probably rate the overall experience as 3.5 stars if I were able to.

Thank you for your comments. As you mentioned, the house is a charentaise house made of stones and not a contemporary one. We are considering a lot your feedbacks (need of fan, find a way to improve the connection, more ustensils...) to improve the offer. Séjour au calme

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour ! Maison spacieuse laissant à chacun la possibilité d'avoir son espace tout en profitant de la convivialité des espaces communs. Grande piscine et babyfoot très appréciables (un grand serait encore un plus !) Bémol sur le lave-vaisselle qui fait des siennes et sur les WC à l'étage. Dans tous les cas, nous recommandons !!

Merci du retour, le lave vaisselle a été envoyé en réparation et est maintenant opérationnel! Les WC ont également été réparé. Pour le babyfoot, celui-ci est, il est vrai, plus pour adolescents, nous tenterons d'en acheter un pour adulte prochainement. Merci encore de vos retours qui nous aident toujours!

Séjour agréable au calme

Maison de campagne charentaise typique avec du potentiel mais pas toujours optimisé. Accueil parfait par les "amis" du propriétaire . Situation idéale pour visiter les différents sites touristiques tout en étant au calme entouré de vignes,tournesols et maïs Grand terrain pour se détendre. Belle piscine mais hélas pas de terrasse sur la périphérie . En conclusion bilan positif.

Merci de ce retour et désolé de la réponse très tardive!! Nous avons depuis acheté pas mal de matériels pour agrémenter le séjour des visiteurs (grand BBQ, transats, bains de soleil, chaises longues) et la maison est d'avantage décorée. Au plaisir de vous recevoir de nouveau!
