Couples Retreat on the River.

Our cozy, comfortable cottage is for rent on the Sauble river in Lake County for the right individuals. It's the ideal place for someone that wants truly to experience Pure Michigan at its best!! Very secluded area,but offers some many cool things to do! Lakes and rivers are abundant in all directions! With Kayaks available at cottage.Ludington, Manistee, Traverse City, are all within reach also! This place is absolutely immaculate! We would love to keep it that way. Look at the pictures in detail! It is right on the river so summer months the bugs can be hungry! Also the stairs to the loft are somewhat narrow. If interested please contact us! Thanks. We feel it is most enjoyable as a couples retreat. We have a 3 night minimum and our maximum night stay is 5 nights. We can also do a 2 night stay but there will be a $50 up charge. Thank you. We do allow one small dog (25-30 pounds ) and there is a $75 pet fee.

Very nice and tranquil A frame in West michigan. Big Sable river is right out the back door and cabin is wonderfully outfitted.

Great Family Weekend

We really enjoyed this cute, clean cabin on the river. The place is beautifully furnished and has everything you need to be comfortable. It is close to great hiking trails and kayaking. We would highly recommend the property. It exceeded our expectations!

Lovely private retreat

A charming, comfortable, beautifully decorated cabin on the river. Very private and peaceful. Owners were wonderful to work with. If you need to get away from it all for a bit, you can't go wrong here! Very highly recommended.

Peace and quiet

Just what we were looking for. Listening to the sound of the river and the birds was all you hear there. Very relaxing. Cabin is very nice and the owners communicated very well.

Peaceful and beautiful

We did several hikes in the area and enjoyed this property as our home base. It’s a private, quiet location. We loved sitting in the river room watching all the birds and animals! We used the canoe and did an easy trip to the first bridge downstream. I highly recommend this home!

Paradise

Hard to oversell how great this place is. Beautiful, cozy, immaculate cabin, excellent hospitality, and above all, PERFECT location. Tons of wildlife, a lovely river and woods in the backyard, and outstanding hiking trails nearby. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. You will not be disappointed!

Great Place!!!

We book a lot of VRBOs and found this place to be one of our favorites (if not thee). The craftsmanship and staging is perfect and professional. The view of the river, woods, and wildlife is so peaceful, and the River Room is a great place for a glass of wine at night and coffee in the morning. The place is well supplied with everything that you would need for short-term or long-term stay and the furniture very comfortable.

Dream

It seemed like it was too good to be true even when we were there. My boyfriend even said it felt like a set of a movie. The yard and cabin were incredibly well maintained. You could feel the love. I honestly can't wait to go back. It was PERFECT.

Perfect weekend getaway!

Our weekend was absolutely perfect! I was forced to unplug, which I am so grateful for. The pictures did not give the house or property justice- both exceeded our expectations! The house was immaculate and had everything we could possibly need. My husband and I have stayed at quite a few rentals over the years and this was by far our favorite. We hope to come back soon!

Perfectly picturesque

Everything was exactly as described, clean and wonderfully detailed. All the amenities are top notch. My dog couldn’t get up the steep stairs to the loft and cried whenever I went up there so I ended up sleeping on the couch and I can attest that even that is comfortable! They leave “dog sheets” in case your pet wants to go on the furniture, which is what I ended up sleeping on, and they were soo nice. Great wildlife; if you love birds this is the place for you.

A wonderful place to stay and relax

Such an awesome place to relax while watching the wildlife and birds. The cabin was well maintained. The eco system created by the owner around the cabin is really good. The shallow river running right in front of cabin is good for kids. Kayaks are available if you have the right truck to carry it back. Watching the wild animals coming to eat the animal food from river view room was our favorite activity. We really can’t wait to go back and stay there. There are lot of trails close by for hiking. I highly recommend this cabin for a family with kids.

Amazing

The property was beautiful. The litter critters we seen every morning and night was awesome. The river was clean even the the fish didn’t bite, they didn’t like us. Ha! The cabin was clean! The decor was on point. Very secluded and no service to unplug from the world.

Highly recommend!

This is the fifth cabin my husband and I have rented in Michigan and it is definitely our favorite! We stayed here for three nights in February and enjoyed hiking around the area (the drive to the Manistee River trail is well worth it). We loved coming back to this cozy and secluded cabin to relax. The view from the cabin was so beautiful and peaceful and it was fun to see all of the animals coming to the feeder. Our cavapoo was captivated for hours just watching it all! I would love to stay here again. Jason and Bernice were wonderful hosts and I hope they continue to share their cabin for many many years! ;D

A Nature Lover’s Dream

This was the perfect place for my first wedding anniversary! The house was tidy, beds comfortable, and view amazing. The star of the show - or should I say stars - are all the critters. We spent hours in the River Room watching all of the animals come and go. Seriously, you could create a bingo board: Red winged black birds, Woodpeckers, Mourning doves, Blue jays, Cardinals, Wild Turkey, Robbins, Starlings, Grackles, Eastern Towhees, Chipmunks, Black squirrels, Gray squirrels, Pine squirrels, Cottontail Rabbits, Ground hogs, Raccoons, and White tailed deer! We were lucky enough to have both sunny days and rainy ones - both extremely serene experiences. We’d 100% recommend this stay to anyone and can definitely see ourselves rebooking in the future!

A Top Notch Retreat!

My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Just when you think you've seen all this place has to offer, there's yet another amazing detail to enjoy both inside and out! The seclusion of this location provides a great atmosphere for all kinds of wildlife viewing, whether from a walk outdoors or a from a seat in the river room with a cup of coffee. The cleanliness and coziness of the cabin, and all the elements of the things around it outdoors, provide a great space for rest. With little cell service, it forces you to let go of the noise & unwind. All interactions with the hosts were kind & greatly supportive. Thank you for your generosity & for sharing this special gem with the world!

Complete slice of heaven.

We were completely taken back by the beauty of this place. The owners take all of the guesswork and trouble out of a nice quiet getaway. There was never a moment of "I wish we brought" or "Maybe we should have" on any aspect of this. The kayaks and going down the river was scenic and fun. The challenge was really making our way back. Watching the wildlife was something that if we waited patiently and watched out the window, would never seem to happen, but if we worked on a puzzle we would look up and see animals out and about. We would then turn the lights off and crawl to the window and watch. The night sky sitting out by the fire was absolutely stunning! This is bar none in our list of top five trips. We appreciated the opportunity to enjoy such an amazing place.

Little piece of paradise

Great communication. The best by any VRBO we have used. A nice bottle of wine and other gifts present on arrival. The property is gorgeous and Quiet!!! No road noise. No nosie of any kind except nature. Deer and other critters venture into the property all day long. We spent 90 percent of the time on the river room just reading and watching the river and back yard and the critters. Very relaxing. The property was our destination as opposed to staying somewhere just to go other places. There are places nearby to get groceries and they left a lot of directions on where to go. We went to a grocery store which is the beef jerky capital of the world for example. Never would have found that without the recommendation. Very fun. It was private we never saw another soul. Highly recommend.

Amazing

The cabin was spotless when we arrived, and there was a gift left for us on the counter! Everything about the cabin felt very welcoming. Watching the animals, soaking our feet in the river, and reading were some of our favorite activities. It's a very special place! Thank you Bernice and Jason, you were perfect hosts and the cabin was exactly what we wanted for our vacation.

Cabin on the river

What a place to stay. Talk about attention to detail this place has it all privacy, serenity animals popping in the yard. Me and my wife are so relaxed. We didn’t watch TV or listen to the radio. This is an excellent place to recharge and regroup. The landlords were excellent and the accommodations were everything you wanted them to be the cabin was very clean lots of extra blankets. And we had two six-point bucks in the velvet and the Front yard at one time. We will be booking again
