We enjoyed our stay at Ashanti. It was excellent value for money, secure and quiet. You’re elevated so even on the ground floor you get a fair sea view from the balcony.
We had a car but it’s walkable to some beautiful beaches, some with services, some super quiet. My five year old walked quite happily up to Mullins beach and once on the main road there is pavement all the way along. Making sundowners at the Sea Shed a particular favourite.
The roads have suffered over the last year, so although it can be tricky driving in the wet it has slowed the pace of the reggae buses slightly so you feel safer as a pedestrian.
Thunder bay (Simone’s) is fab, as well as the beach at Folkestone Marine Park. Both have parking, sun bed hire and great local food outlets.
It’s a great start for further exploration too with Harrisons Cave, Huntes Gardens, Flower Caves etc all very accessible by car. Massys supermarket is just down the road in Holetown and there is a Jordans in Speightstown. All in all a very pleasant stay.
