Due to the age and construction of historic homes, it is not uncommon following periods of heavy rain or major differences in weather conditions for moisture present in the walls to form patches of condensation internally as the colder air meets the warmer air inside. As this occasionally occurs within the living room in one corner, which is a cold spot, the owners have provided a dehumidifier for your use should this occur during your stay. Usually this only occurs during the colder winter months but keeping the cottage ventilated during your stay, such as by opening the window when cooking or showering helps reduce the moisture already in the cottage and reduces the likelihood of this occurring as it allows excess moisture to escape and the old house to breathe.
Many thanks for your cooperation in this respect.

Lovely cottage, so pretty inside, really has everything you need for relaxing holiday away, beautiful views of the countryside from cottage, can’t wait to return great for visiting surrounding areas of Dorset.
Pretty, quiet and comfortable cottage in a beautiful village, 10min from the coast
We had an amazing long weekend in this beautiful cottage. Everything was clean, very comfortable and it is well equipped. We woke up with horses cheering us from the other side of the fence, and had a lovely walk around the village. It is very quiet and peaceful, and yet only a few minutes by car from the town and the coast. Would definitely recommend and go back!
Applewood Cottage was the perfect base for our short stay in Dorset. It was clean, cosy, comfortable and tastefully well equipped. The Visitors Guidebook provided a wealth of information about the cottage, local services, facilities and the history of the area.
The owner herself was additionally extremely helpful when we had some questions related to our Dorset property search.
Would recommend Applewood highly for a relaxing quiet country break.

Very comfortable, clean and cosy cottage.
Very comfortable, clean and cosy cottage. Very well equipped, with everything you would need to feel like a home away from home. We found the cottage to be well located to explore the Jurassic coast and good amenities (shops, restaurants etc) near by. The owner sent us a very comprehensive and interesting booklet about the cottage and village and left a very nice welcome pack to get us started including extra hand gel and wipes. Definitely recommended!

A really cosy and very quiet cottage.
A really cosy and very quiet cottage. Tucked away in a small village but very convenient for large supermarkets in Bridport nearby. Loads of superb coastal walks within easy reach. Only problem for us was no Internet connection?? but that did not affect our stay at all. We visited out of season but I would guess the bbq in the rear garden would be great in the summer months. We made a fire every night but it was almost TOO hot!! Very convenient for A35 to head out and about.

Excellent stay at Applewood Cottage.
Excellent stay at Applewood Cottage. The property was absolutely spotlessly clean when we arrived and had everything we needed. The garden and swing was a bonus for the kids and the view from the garden across the hills was lovely. A great base to explore Dorset from.

A very clean and comfortable cottage in delightful countryside.
A very clean and comfortable cottage in delightful countryside. It was well positioned and with the good weather we were able to make many outings to points of interest and for walks along the coastline. The terraced garden was a delight and we enjoyed evening drinks therein. We also enjoyed meeting the next door neighbour on a number of occasions who was very friendly.

Lovely little cottage set in the countryside about a half hour walk to the pub over some picturesque fields and 5 min drive to morrisons. The beach is a good 1 hour walk or 10 min drive. Well equipped and lovely log burner which we needed. Nice garden with views and bbq. Gorgeous views from the bedroom window and very quiet and private.

Ideally placed for the amenities of Bridport, also for exploring the Dorset coast.
Ideally placed for the amenities of Bridport, also for exploring the Dorset coast. Parking was a minor issue, but the road is quiet. Facilities in the cottage were very good, we had everything we needed for making meals and for relaxing in the evenings. The wooden worktop around the kitchen sink needs some attention, where it has suffered some water damage.
We hade a great week, and managed to dodge the showers most days!
