Porcupine Shores Has An Elevated View And Access To The Water
Best of both worlds! Porcupine Shores has an elevated view and access to the water. A dramatic stairway descends along the cliff from the home to the rocky beach.
This property is located on a shelf set within the Niagara Escarpment. A flood-lit cliff looks down on the property which in turn looks down on the beach.
When the wind is up, your background noise is the waves breaking onto the shore. When the lake is calm you can experience a complete lack of sound!
The property was written up in the July 1, 2013 issue of Door County Living. Take a look here.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Porcupine Shores! Beautiful location between the escarpment cliffs and the water of the bay. We hope to return in the future.
Unbelievable location. Great views and 2 wonderful decks to look at the lake and scenery. Kitchen very well stock with cooking supplies but make sure to bring all your own condiments and spices. No Pepper and no condiments at all. We spent 2 of the 3 nights grilling , cook at the home and watching the sunset. Some maintenance need on a few things in the home, but over all really great home and would stay again.
Our family of 4 stayed for an extended weekend in early October and we absolutely loved Porcupine Shores. The property is at the end of the road, secluded and quiet, offering great views of the lake. The house is thoughtfully designed and has a very functional layout.
We had a wonderful time! The property is even lovelier than the photos show. It's a hike down and up from the water, but so worth it. The views are amazing. Great vacation!!!

Beautiful view!
The view was great, the house was very functional. The listing did not indicate that you would need to bring laundry detergent to wash all their towels on your last day. The listing also did not indicate that you would need to provide soap, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc. This was all information that would have been handy to know in advance.
Great property, as pictured, but even better in person! Absolutely everything we needed for a great weekend. Situated up on the cliff, the location is really breathtaking! We were two college friends getting together for a long weekend and we had more than enough space, it would be very comfortable and spacious for two couples or a couple with several kids. We’ll be going back next year!
If you're looking for a secluded, peaceful get away with an incredible view that is also conveniently located - this is your place!
Comfy, quiet, clean and cozy, this beautiful house met all our needs and made our first trip to Door County one we'll remember fondly.
Highly recommended, we will be back!
This property is open, modern, and private. The finishes are beautiful and the decks and stairwells down to the water are amazing for those who love the outdoors. It could use some TLC though, like a good thorough cleaning and directions on how to use some of the features. We would definitely stay here again!
This property has million dollar views overlooking Green Bay. The master bedroom is large and private. The main floor of the house is spacious and allows for nice family time. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. The patio/deck wraps the entire water side of the house overlooking the water. Nice grilling on the deck as well as fire pit for roasting marshmallows with the family. Hands down a must visit/stay property. We will be back again if this property is available. We have come to door county for the last 40 years... best/nicest home to date. You will not be disappointed!!
We spend a long weekend at this property. Really nice location, great views from all the windows. We had a good time, even with the off and on rain. Really clean and well equipped house.
We would definitely like to come back in the future.

Wonderful property and home with a few kinks.
The pictures do not do this home justice. It is beautifully situated on the bluffs of Door County, but you have access to Green Bay through steps leading to the water. There is a dock and two decks facing the water from which beautiful sunsets can be seen. It was quiet, secluded, yet well situated on the peninsula. We had a lovely time and we definitely recommend the place, but we urge the management to iron out the kinks quickly.
The kinks:
a. Communication: The rental agreement sent after reserving conflicted with the terms on the VRBO website. The agreement stated that only a check was allowable method of payment, yet I was getting messages to pay by credit card through the VRBO email. I wrote a check, signed the agreement and sent it back. The property managers said it should have been credit card through the VRBO email. I was extremely nervous because this looked "fishy" especially after paying a down payment and having no cancellation option and no reviews at the time I rented. In the end, it was fine and they sent my uncashed check back. Suggestion: Please correct this in the rental agreement.
b. AC: We had great difficulty with the AC. We called three times to the Door County Properties which manages the place. We were told the same thing twice. We followed the directions, which did not work. We called a third time and they sent someone out who thoroughly checked out the AC and declared it working. It was much better than before (nonexistent to cooling but never at the temperature we set). Suggestion: Have explicit instructions for the AC/heating and other things in the notebook.
c. No coffee pot. Who has a vacation rental without a coffee pot? A quick call to Door County Properties, and they promptly brought out a coffee pot.
d. The kitchen was very sparingly stocked. We had to buy (and we left) a cork skewer. The pots and pans were minimal. Plan on bringing everything you need to cook: good knives, gadgets, kitchen towels (they had only one), spices beyond salt and pepper, any staples. There are plenty of plates, cups, glasses.
Overall, a fabulous property that once the management irons out the kinks will be worth every penny you spend on it.
