Natural beauty everywhere you look. The house is gorgeous and the guest house is comfy. The sunrise is magical here— and the variety of birds is delightful. Close to the warm spring pools for even more luxuriating. Beautiful all around. Bring groceries and a large water jug as grocery stores are not too close.
The Bend House is a perfect location for a family gathering. The house is so comfortable and beautifully decorated!
The kitchen has everything and more than we expected. We enjoyed walking over the property and down by the river. This home is very private but close enough to Hot Springs that a trip out is easy! The host was wonderful and responded quickly to my questions and was very friendly through her communication! We all talked about returning in the summer!!
We visited this property with another family, so there were four adults and four children in total. The house is very spacious and well-stocked, and we really enjoyed cooking in the pretty kitchen and playing games in front of a living room fire. The children took over the guest house and loved having their own space - and the adults loved that too! We took a beautiful hike in Douthat State Park one day, and played by the Cowpasture River on the property the second day. The house is in a very remote location, so it's important to bring all you need with you, but if you are looking for a place to get away from it all with family or friends, you will really enjoy this lovely house!
We just had the best weekend at The Bend House. It was grand in a cozy way that was completely comfortable and warm. Everything we needed was provided and all of us immediately felt at home. My favorite things about the house were the 360° mountain views, the gorgeous stone fireplaces stocked with dry wood for evening fires, and the large windows and French doors that graced nearly every room. It was too cold to enjoy the screened porch or stone patio, but I imagined how magical it would be in the spring and fall. Thanks for hosting us so graciously. We’re already planning our return trip.
The home was particularly clean inside and out. Even the windows were clean - and there are a lot of windows and patio doos with windows. Speaking of patios, there are three! My favorite rooms were the dining area with wood burning stove and the den with an exceptional library of books! The landscaping is gorgeous and drew hummingbirds and lots of butterflies. The kitchen and four bathrooms were stocked with extras including coffee, spices, paper towels, toilet paper and all toiletries. Thank you!
This is a beautiful property in a beautiful setting. The home is well-maintained, the kitchen is well-stocked with utensils and they have a large library with great taste in books. Be sure to put in correct guest count for accurate pricing.
Beautiful, peaceful, serene, if you're looking for a location to really GET AWAY, this is it. Multiple outdoor seating areas, plus a screened porch, all with beautiful views of the property. Bring all your own food and beverages, there is really no reason to leave the house, other than to explore the property and drive over to the lodge to visit the farm animals. Would love to stay here again, and would recommend to anyone looking for an escape!
Amazing views of the mountains and pristine farmland from every room in the house. The view of the stars is spectacular at night with light pollution far off in the distance. The space is ideal for adults and kids. However, it’s not baby proof if you’re considering bringing a toddler or younger.
If the photos seem too good to be true, they are not. This beautifully designed and furnished home sits on a large acreage of farmland, with hardly a sign of civilization in any direction, and no noises louder than the frogs at the river. Lots of luxurious touches (heated bathroom floor in master bedroom!). many gracious spaces for socializing inside and out, and lots of space for play. We would give it six stars if we could.
The property and house are spectacular. It was the ideal setting for a weekend away with friends. There were four of us and we each had our own bedroom and bathroom, with plenty of room in the common areas to spread out and gather. The kitchen was stocked with spices, evoo, pots and pans, firewood, knives, coffee, etc. The wood stove and fireplace were easy to use and the directions for guests were clear and helpful. Tip: do not arrive after dark. The road is narrow and it’s difficult to see. Our fun weekend ended with a blanket of snow and the house was truly magical. We thought we would drive to a nearby state park to hike, but we hiked the trails on the property. We all hope to return to the Bend House and Fort Lewis.
We loved this house and its setting. The house is extremely well appointed and very comfortable. It had everything we could possibly need (including in the kitchen). We especially loved the outdoors. The property is beautifully landscaped and we made lots of use of the screened in porch and the many stone patios. The views are incredible. The setting is very peaceful and relaxing. Our friends were so impressed with our reports and photos that they are already talking about renting it together for a friends getaway week or long weekend, and one of them wants to rent it to bring her adult children and grandchildren. We would definitely go back. Thanks so much for opening your beautiful home to us !!
The house and the area are great. The pictures dont do the justice. The views are amazing and the house is very nice. It is a wonderful place to unplug for people who like nature. Car is a must to access river attractions and hiking trails.
I, wife and kids (6 and 9) loved the house and property. Great beds, very clean, well stocked, with a great open layout. Loved the screened in porch and working fireplace. Would happily return again.
This is an excellent property for a larger sized group. Very nice accommodations!

Perfect family getaway!
Our family, 4 adults and 3 children, spent Thanksgiving in this beautiful setting. The house is well appointed and the kitchen is equipped for making and serving lots of food. The grounds were lovely for walking and the river was forthcoming with fish for the fishermen. We had games and cards by the fire and football on the TV. Idyllic holiday! We'd love to do it again and probably will.
