Situated right beside the South-West Coastal Path, Riverside Mews is a relaxing, end-terraced riverside house that provides great holiday accommodation regardless of the time of year. Recently renovated in 2023 where new vinyl tiles floors have been laid on the ground floor and upstairs bathroom. The property enjoying stunning views across the River Torridge from the garden is also just a short level walk along the river to one side, and Bideford’s Victoria Park on the other (some 400 yards away). The path leads through the park (home to Burton Art Gallery and Museum and the Café du Parc) and on to the pretty port town of Bideford, with its pastel-coloured houses alongside a tree-lined quay. The park and its play areas are great for the young (and young at heart) with numerous playing fields, & a dedicated area for dogs, a small pool plus a skateboard park next to Bideford Town Football Club nearby.
What to Do? Maybe take a boat trip to the nature reserve at Lundy Island, which offers the chance to see seals and dolphins, or there are many a pretty fishing villages to explore in the area, starting with places such as Clovelly, Instow and Appledore. Just 2 miles away, the vast golden sandy beach of Westward Ho! is popular with surfers. If you’d rather stay a little closer to home, you can saunter along the coastal path that follows the river, yards from the water’s edge. The nearest slipway is 200 yards down river from the property, whilst keen cyclists and walkers can join the Tarka Trail, which passes through Bideford.
The Welcome pack gives you much useful information on all the above and more.

A very tidy, comfortable and well equipped property.

A very tidy, comfortable and well equipped property. Did not expect it to be on an estate. Tea, coffee and milk supplied was a pleasant surprise. Having the coastal path on the doorstep was a plus. Overall enjoyed the short break.

Perfect base if you are doing the South West Coastal Path.

Perfect base if you are doing the South West Coastal Path. In fact the path runs in front of the property! Really easy access to A39 for travelling to and from the walk starting points. We were so lucky with the weather and enjoyed having the patio door open listening to the birds on the river, watching the rowers, fishing boats and ferries passing by. Parking right outside the front door and the house was big enough for 2 plus a dog. Morrisons just up the road.

Timings for arrival and departure are a little off putting. Arriving at 5pm and having to leave by 9am is a little inconvenient. I understand about the time needed to clean etc. Beautiful location and would rebook without any hesitation. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We enjoyed our stay at Riverside Mews, Was very clean and the view of the river is lovely, Two things that need some attention though are the cooker hood didn’t work, and the shower leaked through the ceiling slightly, but neither of these things spoilt our visit. A very lovely place with great views of the river. Close to all amenities. Very clean with all required facilities. Would go again. One thing to improve are the squeaky floorboards on the 1st floor. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A great little house with a 'view to die for'

Delightful modern cottage, right by the river - watch the tide ebb and flow every day. Equipped to a high standard. Close to town, riverside walks a delight. Will definitely return.

My husband and I were very happy with our stay and found the area and the locals very nice and cheerful always with a hello and a smile. And fantastic bus service. The wife and tv were excellent. The cleaning was not up to scratch could be better, kettle was brown inside. Windows and tv screen needed a good clean, also thick dust behind tv. Bed was very comfortable. And we did enjoy our stay. And thank you for the welcome pack. Nice surprise. We would come again.

A lovely little house, very clean.

A lovely little house, very clean. Considering we usually go for holiday homes that are a bit more expensive and a bit larger, we were actually very pleasantly surprised by this property. We had a lovely time and it was clean and comfortable. Lots of things within walking distance of the property, and loads to see and do within a short drive. We would book again.

A nice property but it felt very small and there were only two of us and it caters for four!! The kitchen was really small and the photos somehow made it seem bigger. Overall a good location very close to Bideford town

Excellent accommodation, very well equipped.

Excellent accommodation, very well equipped. The only downside was a late entry into the house (9.00pm) due to an error in the number to open the key safe. Otherwise the holiday was very good. I would thoroughly recommend the accommodation.

Great little house with lovely views very close to the river.

Great little house with lovely views very close to the river. Bideford has some nice shops in the local area (walkable distance - 5 mins) a lovely park which even has an outdoor pool. Supermarket is close by. Most days we went to Instow beach which is a real gem, we were really lucky with the weather in May - our dog just loved all of the walks on the beach too! We ate out most nights and one good recommendation is The Beaver Inn at Appledore, lovely pub on the coast with sea view, lots of lovely local folks and it’s dog friendly, the food is great too. Nice welcome pack from the owner on arrival - thank you! All of the amenities and facilities were really good, the only one thing we would have liked was a more comfortable mattress on the double bed - for me, that’s a deal (and back) breaker!! That said, we really enjoyed our week at Riverside Mews but would urge the owner to try the bed for a week for comfort?

Riverside is a comfortable place to stay but if you are limited mobility it is quite a walk to get to town so we had to use the car all the time, paying for parking. Views from riverside is lovely. Welcome package in place for our arrival
