Dogs loved the garden ,which was very secure for them, it was just a shame the area outside the games room wasn't secure due to the gaps under the 5 bar gates. . The cottage was nice and had most things we needed for our stay ,the fridge was a little on the small side . The location was good as Chapel St Leonards and Skegness are not too far away by car.Looking forward to a return visit next year.

Lovely cottage in a lovely quiet rural location, but close to all main towns/ seaside locations.
Great to wake up to hear cows grazing in the fields right outside your cottage.
A little on the expensive side for cottages in Lincolnshire, but probably reflects how secluded you feel. Less expensive cottages had a lot more neighbouring holiday makers very close by.

Just returned from an amazing stay at Somer Leyton cottage.
Just returned from an amazing stay at Somer Leyton cottage. Really comfortable, clean, and well equipped - we all felt instantly relaxed. A FANTASTIC space outside with a games room, loads of space to run around and a fully enclosed large lawn area - felt like a one off. The kids said it was their best holiday ever and we will definitely be back - like lots of people in the guest book we hope to become regulars! Saw the owner from a large social distance as we left the property - she is lovely and friendly and made it very clear that she was on the end of the phone line and happy to help. Thank you!

The cottage is lovely and in a beautiful location. It was so relaxing. We enjoyed the large garden and looking at the cows in the surrounding fields. The beds were comfortable and little touches like outdoor toys for the children made for a good holiday.

A lovely 2nd stay.
A lovely 2nd stay. Location perfect, close to all amenities. All the comforts of home. Did struggle with the beds but no big deal, no beds like your own! The weather was very kind so was able to take advantage of the huge enclosed garden. Looking forward to our next stay.
Thank you to Maxine xx

Fantastic holiday.
Fantastic holiday. Cottage was amazing and the large garden was great for the dog. Visited the beach a few times with no one else there. Easy reach of local shops and short drive to bigger ones. Loved every minute of our time there and hopefully be back next year.

If you like peace and quiet, this is the perfect location away from the hustle and bustle of life, but 5 minutes away from the resorts and beaches. The garden was exceptional for our 2 dogs, we played tennis and badminton, and sat out for meals and drinks. The cottage is clean and well equipped. No wifi but we were that busy enjoying ourselves that the break from it was enjoyable in retrospect.Local beaches are some of the best we have visited and all dog friendly apart from small areas near piers and fronts. The beach is walkable from Mablethorpe to Gibraltar point, and we almost covered it all.Lovely pubs in drivable distance that do good meals, namely The Saracens Head in Hogsthorpe, a 5 minute drive away.Locals very friendly and the owner was at the other end of the phone when we weren't sure how the TV worked. We loved everything about our week there, and we're blessed with a little Owl visiting us at dawn and dusk, buzzards in the sky and rabbits in the fields around the cottage.... Heavenly.

This is our 2nd visit and we loved it just as much.
This is our 2nd visit and we loved it just as much. Somer Leyton Cottage is just perfect for everyone. Whether it's a young family with children as there is a games room with plenty of things to do to keep them amused and occupied.
It is also perfect if you're just a couple like us as the cottage is lovely and clean and warm with everything you need provided. There is a big private garden where you can relax with a glass of wine or have your meal on the table provided which we did on few occasions.
The garden is not only very private as there are no neighbours to worry about but it's also secure so if you have a dog like us you don't have to worry about him escaping. He actually enjoyed himself running around chasing birds etc and barking at bulls in the surrounding field who then came to see what the commotion was but could not get too close as there is an electric fence past the hedge .
There is a village called Hogsthorpe within a walking distance where there is a small supermarket available. We mainly visited Chapel St Leonards, a lovely little town with a nice beach which is just 3 minutes drive from the cottage. There is a Co-op supermarket and a few shops, a family restaurant , 2 fish@chips shops and 2 Chinese Takeaways, we recommend Canaan. There is also a big Tesco in Skegness if you need it. There are a lot of attractions in Skegness if that's what you like but it's not our cup of tea so we never bothered going.
