Fishing on River Wear free of charge. Parking. No smoking. Please note: There is a beck in the garden.. Located less than a mile from the city centre, tucked away down a country lane and surrounded by rolling countryside, this converted dairy has been renovated to a good standard with a well-equipped kitchen, beautiful bathrooms, spacious living room with double height beamed ceiling and minstrel balcony. Set by the owners’ home and sharing their 4-acre grounds, a 20-minute walk along the riverside takes you directly into Durham city where you can enjoy excellent cafés, restaurants and shopping. Steeped in history, Durham is renowned for its spectacular architecture and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Durham Cathedral and Castle along with its famous university which dates back to the 13th century. Enjoy a 10-minute train journey into the vibrant city of Newcastle and only 45 minutes to historical York. Shop and pub serving food 0.5 miles.
