Good location, good value cottage, but

We enjoyed staying at this cottage and it made a great base for exploring the southern coast of Cardigan Bay, which has some fabulous stretches of the coastal path. However, the cottage was really cold when when arrived mainly because the owner insists on turning the radiators to frost setting and then locking them. The heating instructions left in the cottage folder are really out of date and relate to a heating system that is no longer there (night storage heaters that the instructions say will come on from 12 midnight to 7 am). Each radiator has a printed exhortation next to it saying not to touch the controls because the system would then shut down. This was completely misleading. When we woke up the first morning, the bedroom temperature had dropped to 12 deg C. After speaking to the owner and finding a copy of the radiator manual online, we were then able to enjoy a warm week! A minor detail this: the cottage has a spacious garden but you can't just let the dog out of the back door into as you have to negotiate a garden gate.

We had a lovely, relaxing time in a pretty location.

We had a lovely, relaxing time in a pretty location. The cottage is quirky and well equipped. The bed was comfy and the log burner fantastic, with loads of logs. There was a problem with the loo which was sorted out immediately. The owner was very helpful and a neighbour left us some eggs. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Unique cottage of great charm, far bigger than we expected from the photos.

Unique cottage of great charm, far bigger than we expected from the photos. We felt very comfortable, and in fact 'at home' from the beginning. Kitchen very well equipped, and the wood burning stove was a delight with lavish quantities of wood provided. Pleasant sun-trap in the garden.
