Chestnut cottage is a lovely property in a quiet Yorkshire village.
Chestnut cottage is a lovely property in a quiet Yorkshire village. It's location makes it an ideal base from which to plan trips to many areas of North Yorkshire, nearby are coastal locations, Forest parks, and market towns to explore. The property is comfortable and well equipped. It is set in extensive, beautiful gardens which lead directly to a forest area , this and the village itself offer the opportunity to walk and explore the area without need to drive. The owners are working hard to ensure all covid 19 requirements are met so visitors can feel safe on their holiday. Nearest shop is a drive away so best to go prepared with your own essentials to avoid the need for major shopping. There are good pubs nearby but due to the effects of covid their opening times are not guaranteed. We found the Coachman Inn the best option, food was excellent. The cottage was perfect for me and my 13 year old son.
The cottage was perfect for me and my 13 year old son. The grounds which we had full access to were amazing with woods beyond - so plenty to explore. The hosts were friendly, took time out to chat and help with suggestions around our interests. The cottage was easily accessible to Thornton-le-Dale & Dalby Forest where we hired bikes and followed the mbt - excellent! We also did Go Ape. The cottage is also in easy reach of the coast - we chose to visit Filey Brigg - perfect day, lots of rocks to climb and rock pooling. Only downside for my son - was poor internet connection but good for me as we had lots of time to bond. Highly recommended. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Wow what can I say about this place?! It was my first time trying out a cottage holiday staycation and I wasn’t disappointed. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and the location was perfect. The hosts helped by giving us suggestions of places to visit too and they were on hand if we needed anything. We managed to get all over North Yorkshire during our time here and it was nice to know we were coming back to a comfortable base. The cottage itself had everything you could possibly think of. Signal in the area is quite poor so if you could connect to the WiFi that helped but it added to the romantic secluded location of it all. Thank you so much for a great stay. We hope to visit again in the future (if it isn’t too booked up) x Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
