The Old Stables is a luxury Grade II listed, spacious, oak beamed property with a wood burning stove and exposed brickwork. Convenient for Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. The property has outstanding views over the Cheshire countryside to the coast and also offers a stable and a large parking area. Situated in the countryside offering the benefit of a quiet and relaxing holiday, yet only 5 miles from Cheshire Oaks designer outlet village and the Blue Planet Aquarium. Transport links are excellent with Chester being only 8 miles away with its famous Rows, cathedral and world-renowned zoo. Manchester and Liverpool just 30 minutes away. All can be reached by train with a regular service available from Helsby Station, which is just over a mile from the property. Golf and windsurfing available nearby, whilst Delamere Forest is just 10 minutes away and home to walking, cycling and Segway trails, Go Ape, horse riding and Forest Live concerts. Shops 1 mile, pub with good food and real ale 300 yards.

Relaxing character home in a great location

From the moment we arrived we settled in immediately. Everything we needed was there.Quiet ,spacious and comfortable rooms for 4 adults and two children. Outdoor space was lovely to sit out when the weather was good, great views too.and private parking for cars. So handy for Chester,easy park and ride, the zoo Liverpool,West Kirby, Cheshire Oaks retail.Loved the White Lion with good food ,plenty seating in and out. Definitely recommend the beautiful Old Stables.

Such a great holiday let.

Such a great holiday let. We had a lovely time. Kids really enjoyed the extra space. Well located for places like ice cream farm & chester zoo. Owners super helpful. Only issue we had was we couldnt get a signal for the tv to work & one of the windows childlocks were broken. But we had a wonderful stay. The Old Stables was exactly as described and provided an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area and meeting up with our daughter who is studying at Chester University. Accommodation is spacious yet still comfortable and cosy with easy access just a few hundred meters from main roads and plenty of parking. The owners were very friendly, taking the trouble to check that we had all that we needed and even donating some fresh eggs. The local pub is just a 5 mins walk and provided good Sunday lunch and a meeting venue for drinks with friends.

We absolutely loved The Old Stables.

We absolutely loved The Old Stables. It was perfectly situated for us; easily accessible from the motorway and Manchester airport, village amenities very close, while feeling you were in the middle of the countryside. A well laid out space, and by having the living area split the bedrooms, so that two were one side and two the other, it makes it ideal for friends sharing. We loved the wood burning stove, and such a comfortable space. Looking forward to a return visit!

We stayed for a week and found the The Old Stables very spacious, immaculately clean and perfectly located for access to Liverpool and Chester. Delamere forest is also very close by with a good set up for the kids (Gruffalo walk) The hosts were easy to communicate with and very friendly and helpful when this was required.

We went for a hen do the owners were very friendly and even allowed us to rent a hot tub on there grounds the house was beautiful and really easy to find not far from the motorway! It’s 15 mins away from Chester town centre, I would 100% stop there again overall stay superb.
