Set in the grounds of the owner’s home, this complex of terraced apartments is an ideal holiday base. The properties are decorated and furnished to a good standard. Across the road and down the hill, is the lovely sheltered beach, which is complete with a café, and if you fancy climbing the rocks, you will see some fantastic views across the ocean. Torquay is a very popular and historic town with a huge variety of things to see and do. The town centre is only 4 miles away, offering plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. Like most of the towns in the area, Torquay is situated right on the coast, and the main town is just a few minutes away from the nearest beach - Torre Abbey Sands. There are eight other beaches around Torquay, all with unique views across the bay. The town itself is bursting with history, being the birthplace of the famous murder mystery writer Agatha Christie. It also has beautiful ancient caves containing a variety of interesting fossils, World War II slipways in the harbour and Torre Abbey, which was built in 1166 and is the largest surviving medieval monastery in Devon and Cornwall. And of course, who can forget the role Torquay played in the famous comedy Fawlty Towers.
The South West Coastal Path from Watcombe in Torquay to Maidencombe is a favourite spot for local walkers. This walk has a little bit of everything - from woods and open fields, to beaches, coastal scenery and rare wildlife. Two of the English Riviera’s top attractions can be found in nearby Babbacombe; Bygones Victorian Street and Babbacombe Model Village. Paignton Zoo is a great day out for everyone, and is home to thousands of amazing animals and plants. Situated on the mouth of the River Teign, Shaldon is an unspoilt village, with a thriving livelihood based on the estuary. No visit to the area would be complete without indulging in traditional cream teas. Torquay has a lot to offer, there is the Living Coasts where penguins wander freely, the theatre which has shows all year round, or take a ferry across to Brixham, to sample the fresh fish and seafood. Don’t miss a trip to Dartmoor to climb one of the tors, or just take in the beauty and travel across the moor to Tavistock, where there is some dramatic scenery. The apartments are just 22 miles from Exeter city centre. Golf available 2 miles away. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 600 yards.
Honeysuckle Bungalow (30273), Apple Tree Apartment (30274), Copper Tree Cottage (30275), Palm Tree (30276), Ashbury Tor (ref UKC1922), Huccaby Tor (ref UKC1924) and Ottery Tor (ref UKC1925) can be booked together to accommodate up to 30 guests.
