Please note: There are drops and an unfenced pond on the garden, 22 yards away.. This stone built, Grade II listed, semi-detached holiday cottage is set on the owners’ working farm in the small north Yorkshire hamlet of Ickornshaw. With exposed stone walls, oak beams, mullioned windows and a wood burner, the cottage is traditional in every respect, as well as warm, comfortable and cosy. Set near the Yorkshire/Lancashire border and surrounded by beautiful countryside, this wonderful location is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts with the Pennine Way footpath running right past the farm. In an area steeped with history, a short walk will take you to the old village of Cowling, where the local pub dates back to 1812, and the nearby Quaker village of Lothersdale was once home to Charlotte Brontë.
Just 20 minutes away is the attractive market town of Skipton, once voted the best shopping spot in Britain, and otherwise known as the ’Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’ and beyond. The wonderful cobbled high street of Haworth is also just 20 minutes, and home to the Brontë Parsonage Museum and the Worth Valley Steam Railway, recognizable from its prominence in the classic film ’The Railway Children’. The large retail outlet of Boundary Mill can be reached in around 15 minutes, and Grassington, Malham and Bolton Abbey estate are all also within easy reach. Fishing available nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
