This was a comfortable, well appointed holiday location.
This was a comfortable, well appointed holiday location. There was plenty to see and do in the area. We were unlucky experiencing the wettest, windiest weather of the year, but were able to dry off and relax in our cosy retreat, and our dog loved it too.

We had lovely weather and were not disturbed by the proximity to the railway as there are only a few trains each day and none during the night. The picture on the website gave the appearance that the upstairs room was part of the let, and, although the occupants of the room above were very quiet and considerate, it was still possible to hear them moving about in the bedroom above ours. The cottage was extremely well equipped and comfortable with a small but well fenced garden.

Situated in Corpach about 10 minutes drive from Fort William. Had an enclosed garden for our 2 little days. At the bottom of the garden a railway track which the Jacobite steam train runs along 2 twice a day. Chestnut Cottage is in a lovely location.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location.
A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage had everything we needed but there were a few little niggles - there were guests above us and we could here there movement on the wooden floorboards. The door into the bathroom wasn't properly fitted making it difficult to close properly, and we tried not to use the light in the bathroom because it connected o a fan which ran on for such a long time after switching the light off. The owner needs to take a look at the baking trays as some of them need to be replaced. We couldn't mention this to the owners as we had no contact other than when we first arrived and she happened to arrive at the cottage at the same time as us. Having said all that we enjoyed our week at Chestnut Cottage and would recommend it.
