About this property
1 bedroom accommodation in Bosherston, near Pembroke
Admire the castles, take in the Bosherston lily ponds, or walk the coastal path whilst at this beamed retreat.. Ground Floor:
Living/dining room: Freeview TV, DVD Player, CD Player, Ipod Dock, Woodburner
Kitchen: Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher
Bathroom: Bath, Cubicle Shower, Toilet
First Floor:
Bedroom: Kingsize (5ft) Bed, Single (3ft) Bed. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. External utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.. Lawned garden with courtyard and garden furniture. 1-acre grounds (shared). Private parking. No smoking.. This holiday cottage is set in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, a tastefully converted former granary thought to date back to the mid-18th century which once belonged to the Stackpole Estate. Nowadays, a large part of the Stackpole Estate is cared for by the National Trust including its award-winning golden beaches of Barafundle and Broadhaven South, and the beautiful Bosherston Lily Ponds, famous for their otters, waterfowl, and water lilies. Enjoy stunning walks along the cliff tops and beaches of the coastal path, or through the pretty woodlands and around the tranquil lakes of the estate. Cycle one of the only "bike-friendly" sections of the coastal path directly from the cottage (limited access to this route - please check), or enjoy fishing, water sports and horse riding locally.
For days out without the car, the Coastal Cruiser on request bus service stops by the cottage to give access to towns, villages and the magnificent Norman castle at Pembroke, birthplace of Henry VII. The atmospheric St Govan’s Chapel nestles into a fissure in the cliffs with origins dating back to the 6th century and is 3 miles away. The Green Bridge of Wales and Stack Rocks, famed for their interesting geology and colonies of nesting seabirds are also 3 miles away.
The pretty medieval walled town of Tenby with its picturesque harbour is just a short drive away, from here you can take a boat trip to Caldey Island, home to a Cistercian monastery. Manor House Wildlife Park, Folly Farm, Heatherton, Oakwood Theme Park, numerous historic castles and gardens, and the Preseli Mountains are also within easy reach. Relax in front of the cosy woodburner inside the cottage or watch glorious sunsets over the surrounding countryside from the patio. The Boathouse Tearoom (NT) at Stackpole Quay is 3 miles and Ye Olde Worlde Cafe (Auntie Vi’s) at Bosherston is 2 miles. Cawdors Tea Rooms and a shop selling seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables at the Stackpole Walled Gardens is 1 mile away. Other shops 4 miles, pub, and restaurant 2 miles.
Granary Cottage can be booked together with The Byre (ref UK12398) to accommodate up to 9 guests.
