Fantastic property, lots of space and a huge sofa for all. The large semi-enclosed garden was enjoyed by the dogs, as were the extensive grounds within the property. Kitchen had all items you would need to cook, and the bedrooms where very clean and welcoming.
Will certainly return for another visit. Stayed 6/11/21.
The Byre looked lovely from the photos, but it was even better in reality! Lovely spacious interior, clean and well equipped kitchen, beautifully warm and cosy throughout, and a superb location.
The property welcomes dogs, and there's a field where they can run around, and a dedicated dog-washing area.
Castleton with its shop and pubs is within easy walking distance, and the house itself feels truly remote, giving guests the best of both worlds.
This is the perfect place to stay for visits to Whitby (an excellent and dog-friendly town with many places of interest) and for pilgrims to Heartbeat country.
I shall certainly be coming back.

Once you find it its easy, so follow instructions given.
Once you find it its easy, so follow instructions given. The Byre larger than expected, very spacious corridors leading to open plan lounge/kitchen. Not enough cooking utensils or serving dishes. Beds and pillows very comfortable and clean. Very noisy water pump! Dont use the en suite during night or you end up waking everybody, every time the tap or toilet flushed the pump was automatically started very annoying. Overall a little tired and could do with an update in the kitchen area otherwise a very nice place to stay.

Lovely location, great views.
Lovely location, great views. We found some lovely local places to eat, also not too far from the sea at Whitby/Saltburn
Plenty of room, and all being on the ground floor was excellent as family with limited mobility meaning no steps.
Plenty of lovely walks on the moors for the dog.
Will be back again

if I could give this cottage more than 10 I would triple it.
if I could give this cottage more than 10 I would triple it. It was a fantastic cottage and very well adapted for anybody with a disability. The only let down was castleton which was the nearest village that had a coop which had only the very bare basics a derelict petrol station but a very good decent pub.
The view from the back of the cottage is lovely and the sheep talking to you when you wake up what more could you ask for
