We picked this location to explore Brittany from the centre. It’s a great place as a base to visit all the main tourist attractions in Brittany. There is little very locally but the Gite is well equipped and perfect for a restful stay. Andrea and Luke were perfect hosts, very responsive and supportive during our stay. We travelled with a dog and the garden was contained enough to let her roam. Andrea booked the vets for our return to the UK which was easy and local.
August is very quiet in rural Brittany due to many locals taking vacations which does mean going further afield for choice of restaurants and shops. (Local restaurant needed booking ahead) We found most attractions were about an hour away. The exception being Lac de Gueridan only twenty minutes away and is stunning and good for water sports. Sadly dogs are not allowed on the beach around the lake but we found a couple of quiet areas for our exuberant lab to have a cheeky dip!
Great holiday, we fully unwound from high pressure jobs and reconnected with our Gamer teenage sons!

It was spacious with everything you need to entertain 5 kids and 4 adults. Great place
The surrounding area was lovely, although you can't really walk to any amenities so you do have to drive everywhere. Some really pretty places to see within 20 mins drive
Grounds attached to the house were perfect. We had kids ranging from 9 months to 14 and they all had something to do. As the grounds were contained the adults could relax without having to watch the older kids all the time. On the sunny days the kids spent most of their time in the swimming pool
The owners were super helpful with where to find things and printing maps for us. He even went to the garage with us when we had car trouble
If you want to relax and chill while the kids play, this is the place for you

Thank you for your review - we're always pleased to see our guests looking more relaxed as their holiday progresses. We know from personal experience that if the kids are happy and safe, then the adults can relax.
One of the advantages of living on site is that we can help out if there are any hiccups with the holiday - car troubles especially can be worrying and stressful - so we like to do what we can to help resolve them. It's all part of providing the environment where our guests can relax and enjoy their well earned break.

A lovely old Breton farmhouse
We very much enjoyed our stay at La Noisette. Luke and Andrea were most welcoming and our boys were delighted to play with George. It was a great bonus to have the pool as it was extremely hot for our week. We were very comfortable and had most of our meals outside. We did find though, 7 of us upstairs sharing a bathroom rather difficult. There is of course an extra bathroom downstairs with the other double bedroom but not convenient in the middle of the night..!! We wold be happy to return to the peaceful idyll of central Brittany....

Perfect!
Fab holiday gite, 7 adults 3 children 2 dogs! So nice for us to stay in one gite and holiday together as a family, very well equipt, the disabled facilities are just a**** plenty of room in the spacious disabled wet room and downstairs bedroom, all the door ways are accessible! lovely open plan living/kitchen area, made full use of the heated pool, which has a ramped access, lovely court yard with BBQ and plenty of outside seating, fantastic comfy beds, both bathrooms had great power showers we never ran out of hot water, wi fi and freesat, dishwasher and laundry facilities, just lots of nice touches and home comforts. Luke Andrea and George made us feel very welcome, plenty to see and do around the area, great English speaking vet 10 minutes away in Corley. Would def recommend this lovely gite. Owners are also on site. Thank you Luke Andrea and George for making our holiday stay just perfect!

Lovely Place
We all really enjoyed our stay at La Noisette. Luke and Andrea are very welcoming and cannot do enough to help. The gite is cosy, clean and has amazing outside space. The pool was a big hit with the 4 girls and the layered decking meant that we never felt over crowded.
There is plenty to do with several lakes and wonderful traditional french towns to name just a couple of activities. This felt like we were away from it all, hidden amongst the trees and woodland that stretched for miles and yet all amenities were only a 5 minute drive away.

We are really glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the kind comments regarding the gites and its grounds. We have now enlarged the decking to create more space by the pool as well as adding extra facilities such as a boules court.
About the host
Hosted by Andrea Twelves
We moved out to France in 2012 to take on this lovely group of holiday cottages, but also to try and experience the best of the relaxed French family orientated lifestyle, and the culture. We have worked hard on bringing the cottages up a high standard whilst also trying to have some time off to enjoy as much as possible of the local area so we are able to give lots of recommendations to our visitors. We are also trying to be a little more sustainable, growing our own fruit and veg, producing our own firewood, not quite on the scale of "The Good Life" though! We have really enjoyed the experience, both of living in France, and the fun of running the cottages. Andrea Twelves purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why they chose this property
Our search for the perfect property took three years and we lost count of the number of properties we looked at! In the end we found what we were looking for; a traditional stone building with character, within easy distance of lots of things to see and do for our guests, with easy access to major transport links, remote enough to have lots of fresh air and inky black skies with twinkling stars but very easy access to shops, restaurants etc. An added bonus was lots of our own land and enough renovation work to allow us to put our own stamp on the building. The main road running down the centre of Brittany is only 4 miles from the gîtes and access to the whole of Brittany is very easy; you are at the heart of Brittany with all the advantages that brings.
What makes this property unique
Situated in a small hamlet about a mile from the nearest village, the shop has a café & bar. The local town has several great restaurants (including one with a Michelin star!) as well as supermarket, boulangerie, butcher, creperie, chemist, doctor etc. Chateaux, Medieval ruins, them parks, shopping, and culture are all an easy drive. Less than ten minutes away is the 400 ha lac du Geurledan (the largest lake in Brittany) which is great for swimming, kayaking, water-skiing or just enjoying the sandy beaches. It also has great walks, cycling and horse-riding routes round it. The Tour de France passes through, and every year you can see the teams training in the local area. The cottages are unusual in having large private gardens, and even larger communal areas, giving you the best of both worlds.
