Luxury mews house with balcony & parking in the centre of Bath

Walcot Loft is a brand new, architect designed little mews house, with its own parking space, in the centre of Bath. Sunny & light living room, and a balcony with great views.

Situated in a peaceful lane leading to the river, yet right in the heart of Walcot - Bath's artisan quarter. It's surrounded by wonderful independent cafes, restaurants, pubs & shops. Bath's major attractions (Royal Crescent, Abbey, Thermae Spa etc), galleries & wonderful shops are within a 5 / 10 min level walk.

Our architect designed this lovely 2 storey home to contrast & compliment the Grade II Regency terrace it adjoins, and to make the most of its sunny position & wonderful views.

Paul & I have loved creating this special place. Much of the furniture, and the kitchen, has been handmade by Paul using lovely reclaimed wood. The walls are filled with original artwork. It's a warm, light, peaceful place - perfect for a weekend getaway.

We've thought a lot about what our guests will need, so the kitchen is well equipped with quality crockery, glasses etc. You'll find a large & small cafetiere, an electric milk heater/frother and good ground coffee. Good quality, high thread count linen is used, along with luxury soft towels, goose down duvet & pillows. A king size pocket sprung mattress ensures a great night sleep.

The whole house is yours, including the parking space. We have an art gallery nearby, do pop in if you have any questions.

A great short stay

Well equipped and perfectly located for a visit to Bath and surrounding tourist sites. The 11am check out time was an added bonus. Great host and overall experience. Highly recommend this property.

Fantastic comfortable mews apartment

Great, comfortable, contemporary mews very close to city centre with on site parking. It has a great balcony which was very welcome as the weather was warm.Bed was very comfortable and good quality linens throughout.Lovely extras on arrival, fresh bread, butter and milk, jams and marmalade with tea, coffee etc.I would highly recommend this place.

Lovely relaxing stay

Easy to find in a quiet back street off the main road. All very clean and tidy. Some nice little extras like milk and butter in the fridge and some little pots of jam with bread on the table. We will definitely book again when in Bath.

Pleasant stay; walking distance to Bath centre and other amenities. Comfortable bed, adequate shower and kitchen facilities, although no microwave; could do with a vegetable knife for chopping. This however, wouldn’t deter us from booking the apartment again.

Good location for city centre and amenities. Quite area. Property was clean and well fitted out. Comfy bed and adequate storage. Well fitted out kichen. Loved the balcony and bifold door. Bathroom a little tired, and personally we prefer a standard shower to the rain forest type. Sofa not very comfortable. Tele jrot lusing dignal. Parking provision great. Overall a lovely stay thank you.

loft living

beautifully laid out property with everything you need for a long weekend stay. Nicely furnished with artwork and cermanics. Particularly liked the bi-fold door with views over the roofs of bath. Good location within easy walking distance of the town. Appreciated the milk, bread etc on arrival, nice to enjoy a cup of tea on arrival after a long journey.

Character and convenience

Great location for walking to Bath highlights with nearby shops and watering holes in artsy district. Parking might be tricky for a larger car but it's great, and rare, to have onsite. Apartment has everything needed except laundry but there's a laundrette close by. Host was very communicative and helpful.

Convenience and comfort

Perfect location for walking the old city of Bath and discovering its delights. The apartment is not the easiest to find but the directions are good. Walcot Loft is perfect for two people: spacious lounge … we enjoyed being able to fully open the café doors to bring the outside in. Sleeping was comfortable. The only surprise was the tiny hand basin which is suitable for hand washing and the lack of vanity space made other body care / shaving etc problematic. That aside, we’d book there again. A lovely spot.

Disappointed

Incorrect key code given,last two digits transposed. Only wash basin was so small it was unusable, it also failed to keep water in and leaked out onto floor. Shower, however, was good. Did not appreciate bohemian wardrobe, but very comfortable bed. Parking space VERY tight, with nothing over 4000mm fitting the space. Regret, we would not return.

Good location!

My wife grew up in central Bath and was delighted with the proximity of the Walcot location. We walked every where. The Loft showed good design and artistic taste. Very comfortable and the balcony was a plus. The coffee and other food essentials provided was a nice touch. It was a bit tricky to find at first - being _immediately_ after the first left hand turn of the narrow lane Cleveland Cotts. We were unsure whether to clean the floors etc before we left. All good - very pleased to have stayed there!

Creatively decorated but not cosy

Friend Fran and I thought we’d be fine in a king bed, but the only bed in the loft was queen-sized, at least in American sizes. One of us slept on - not a couch, but a love-seat!…not comfortable. In the morning, there was only enough coffee for ONE cup. In the shower, our shampoos had to be put on the floor. Would have been helpful to have a walking map of the area, which we figured out on our second day

Perfect location if looking to stay near the town centre

This is a lovely little place and very well decorated and the use of room is amazing. Beautiful views, lovely shower and was convenient as everything was within walking difference, 20mins of that to get into town. Only down side was there was no microwave and I feel like 1 could easily fit on the side. Also, it wasn’t as clean as I would expect. The kettle was full of limescale, some of the cutlery still had food stuck to it, the shower had hairs in there and when turned on there was bits of dirt that came from the shower. I feel like if they paid as much attention to the cleanliness as they do the decorative side it would be a 10/10 property. I feel like it was lacking slightly with things being clean. However, it was a beautiful stay for a weekend and I would stay again because of the view and convenience of distance!

Cute little spot

This residence is 2 levels. The bedroom and bathroom are on the lower level and the kitchen, living room and large balcony are on the upper level. The location is 10 minutes or less into Bath. It was easy to prepare meals and hang out. No microwave. Bed was comfortable.

Cozy flat for Bath Getaway

Snug and stylish flat in Bath. There are several restaurants and pubs nearby but it was never noisy or rowdy at night. This particular summer, it was very hot in Britain when we were visiting, and the addition of a fan would have been nice in the flat. However, once the windows were open, the flat cooled down nicely.

Why they chose this property

We worked with a wonderful local architect to create a lovely little mews house in an unloved back yard. The location is great - near to town, but nice & quiet. Great views, and a super sunny aspect. As the property is brand news its cosy & warm.

What makes this property unique

Centre of town, but you have your own private parking space at the front of the property - a rare bonus! Also the sunny balcony, with huge bi fold doors which open out fully. The views are lovely too - looking up towards the hills surrounding Bath.
