Except for the fact that the elevator was out of service, forcing me to walk up 3 flights of stairs with 2 heavy bags, and appeared to not have worked for a very long time, almost everything else about this property was a pleasant surprise. You can't get more local than next to Syntagma Square and the bus stop for the Airport Express Bus X95. The room was well-appointed and very clean. I particularly enjoyed being able to watch Netflix on the TV instead of just Greek language programs. Added to the room rate was a "Service Fee" and a "Cleaning Fee", which is not unreasonable since the overall nightly rate was still good. BUT..........Inside the room was a laminated card requesting that the guest remove all their trash when checking out and take it downstairs to put in a trash container somewhere off the premises on the street. This was too much. No hotel I've ever used has ever asked that a guest remove their own trash as a condition of occupancy. This card should be removed at once!!!
