Our home is set on a quaint piece of Door County's shoreline. Just steps from the waters of Sturgeon Bay, its location is very private, yet convenient to the city. The Chalet was built by my father in law, who spent his life working as a shipbuilder in Sturgeon Bay. Much of the structure is constructed with wood from ships dating back to the building of mine-sweepers during World War II. We've worked hard to try and update the home without losing its true uniqueness.
The Chalet hosts 3 bedroom-2 baths. With its distinctive structure, the cathedral ceilings present an open concept living/dining room area plus a newly remodeled kitchen with upgraded appliances.
Captains Quarters- The upstairs loft including a balcony provide the master with a king bed and en suite bathroom. The balcony adds extra sleeping with a futon.
On the main floor there are 2 bedrooms & a shared full bath.
Queens Stateroom-Has a bed fit for a Queen. Also a Pack & Play and an air mattress are in this bedroom closet.
Crews Quarters- Supplied with 4 twin beds (1-Bunk Bed & 1-Trundle Bed), to accommodate added guests. As well as the toddler rail for one of the twin-beds. Full-size laundry facilities are tucked in the closet of this room.
Also a Queen Sleeper Sofa is located in the shared living room on the main floor.
From the Chalet's large patio you will enjoy the early morning sunshine peaking from the east and the evenings captivating colors lighting up the surrounding bay. We hope you take pleasure in its unique hidden setting and think you're going to love the charm of our shoreside retreat.
