“La Tranquilla” apartment is an excellent choice for lovers of art and history who also want to enjoy the typically elegant Florentine hospitality.



It is located in a magnificent historic building, protected by the Fine Arts Association. Just in the center of Florence at only 200 meter distance from the famous Duomo. It has two levels connected by some quite narrow stairs, it\'s comfortable , quiet, safe and elegantly furnished.



You will be impressed with its magnificent kitchen, its leaving room with warm and relaxing colours and a wooden beamed ceiling, its flowered balcony: a home to live and love like your own!

Convenient location

Clean, secure and a good value base from which to explore the city. Terrace and windows all open to a tight courtyard which can give closed in feeling.

Good for Family of 4

This is a nice property for a family. The only reason I did not give all 5 was due to the fact we could not get ahold of anyone to let us in for almost an hour and the elevator/lift was broken (with no repair seeming to be done), and this peppery is on the top floor up a spiral staircase which was difficult with larger bags.

La Tranquilla

Great location, very close to the Duomo. About 15-20 minute walk from the train station. The main bedroom on the first floor is comfortable. The upstairs bed is hard and not comfortable. The stairs going up to the second floor bedroom are very steep. We used the washer and there was a drying rack.. no dryer. Felt safe and secure. Very quiet.

Florence Visit April 2023

We rented this property to visit our daughter who was studying abroad for the semester. The location was only a few blocks from her apartment and very centrally located close to the Duomo. The property was well maintained and suited all our needs for our visit. The owners were very responsive to all of our messages in a timely manner and went out of their way to accommodate our arrival times that kept changing due to flight schedule changes and delays. Just a few cautions: If you are older and unsteady on your feet the staircase leading to the upstairs bedroom was a bit difficult to navigate. The spiral staircase that leads up to the apartment is hard on someone who suffers from vertigo. Thank goodness there is an elevator to use instead. Overall our experience was a great one and if needed would definitely rent this apartment again.

Terrible Hospitality; no a/c

(1) Early check in, quickly denied. When the person did arrive 10 minutes late, she still had to walk past us to go get the keys and come back. Ummmm, I had previously asked if the office was nearby and could we just leave our luggage there since we were arriving before check-in. Answer was no. (2) AIR CONDITIONERS did not work. Notice given after first sleepless night. They were never fixed during our stay, despite two notices. We were told they were blowing cool air. They were blowing air … it never cooled even the tiniest rooms. Two VRBO’s later we can confirm it was NOT our American standards expecting too much of a European air conditioner. The a/c’s DID NOT WORK. (3) Mold/mildew: I cleaned the black stuff out of the washing machine - gross! (There is no dryer; just a drying rack.) Funny smell in bathroom is probably same culprit. I gave this property manager so many opportunities to avoid this terrible review. I have waited five days and two other VRBO’s before deciding to share with prospective visitors how terrible this property manager is. Note that it is a company and not a person. So, there is no incentive for the multiple workers to accommodate the guest in any way. This set up allows them to constantly “talk to” and/or lay blame on “my colleague.” On a positive note, the location is FABULOUS and the property COULD BE a five star property if a single individual cared enough to keep it up.
