Beautiful Lakefront Home with Private Beach

Rustic lakefront home ideally located for exploring historic New England. The house is at the end of a private road on a 1 acre wooded lot. The house is on a wooded peninsula and surrounded by water on three sides. Most rooms include water views. There is a sandy beach that includes a dock. The gradual slope of the beach is ideal for young children. The house sleeps 8 in bedrooms and has a queen sofa bed in the living room. There is easy access to Boston via car or public transportation. The house features a spacious great room with gas fireplace, large dining room and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen.

Summer and Fall are excellent times of year to enjoy swimming in the lake or relaxing and enjoying the reflection of the fall foliage in the pond. In winter there is easy access to trails for cross country skiing. Downhill skiing & snowboarding is available at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area which is a scenic 30-minute drive. New England Sport Center is a short drive down 290. The house is also convenient to the many colleges and medical facilities in the Worcester area.

Please note this is a multi-level house. There is a flight of stairs to get to the main level and a small number of steps between areas within the house. If you have mobility issues this would not be a good fit for you.

The space was perfect. Beautifully located on a small lake. The power went out on our first night but it came back quickly. The kitchen was well stocked but there were no supplies in the bathroom (soap, shampoo, etc). Debra was very prompt in getting back to me. Very nice property

Great vacation week at this house. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is huge. It was great having air conditioning. The property was beautiful, nice and shady, and we were able to do a lot of fishing, kayaking and swimming by the dock.

Beautiful home and property. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Had all the conveniences of home. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed. Sitting down by the lake was so peaceful! We have adult children - using the firepit and sitting around talking was my favorite part. Would 100% recommend this home.

A serene space

Very spacious home, comfortable, very off the beaten path but quick drive to where we needed to go. Host responded quickly to all our requests/questions. The views are peaceful and beautiful. A perfect overnight get away.

Family vacation

This was a great home to stay in with our 4 young adult children. The home was in a great location for all the different sight seeing adventures we went on. Having a home allowed us to relax at the end of our day and spend a day being together.

So much potential...

The house is very spacious, so there was more than enough space for our group.. The location was great in terms of the private beach. It's just that the beach and dock were covered in goose poop and some feathers. The outside of the house look like it needs some cleaning to remove yard debris and mildew. Additionally the only AC in my bedroom didn't, was just a fan. It was just disappointing. This location has so much potential. It just needs some attention for it to be an ideal vacation spot.

Great location. Nice house. Some small suggestions.

Overall, this was a beautiful location. Quiet and secluded get close to Worcester. Nice layout. Only suggestions regardongwhat we would have liked different is to have soap and shampoo available. Also, the sheets seem very old. But we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful home on the lake

Beautiful home on a “pond” the pond is as big as a lake. Location is great close to city but far out like your way in the country. Lots of spiders though so be aware! Also bring toilet paper supplied is only 1 roll per bathroom. Overall I loved my stay!

Boston Marathon getaway

A very comfortable stay for our daughter's 4th Boston Marathon. Was a bit farther away than I anticipated but it was lovely. Very cozy and felt like home. There was a utility issue but the owner was as responsive and expeditious as possible to get it fixed. We had a great time.

Big place in a nice location

Home was huge and very clean. Property was nice but a thick layer of leaves covered the patio space and walkways to doors. Well stocked kitchen but guests should be prepared to bring all supplies with them, there was only a single roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, and laundry available but no detergent. Overall, we had a quiet and comfortable stay in a very spacious home.

A quirky retreat- secluded, yet near Worcester

I use the term "quirky", because this house has an unusual layout and unusual decor. Lots of steps to different wings of the house and many small areas outdoors, off of many different rooms. That said, in terms of a family stay, it offered a large kitchen, living room and dining room as gathering spaces. Very well stocked kitchen for food prep and serving. Very clean and updated bathrooms were appreciated. One word of caution- this a raised ranch with access to the house via a full flight of stairs, making settling in and packing up a little difficult for older guests.

All I could ask for

No negatives! Fantastic location and house. Huge bedrooms, living room and dining room. Kitchen was large and fantastic. All necessities were there. Beach is great and water was clear. No neighbors visible. Huge garage. Master bath is terrific. And a working ice machine! Ceiling fans throughout. Bedroom ac great. Love sitting on decks.

Great location

The property was wonderful, the pond that it is located on was very weedy. Fine for fishing but swimming was not really an option (this of course has nothing to do with the owner). My daughters and their partners did not like their mattresses (the master mattress was fine). Overall I thought the place was pretty clean but my wife has different standards than I do and she vacuumed and the vacuum gave off a smell that smelled like used gym socks. The vaulted ceilings had many spider webs that the cleaners must have missed. Overall the best part was the location, when on the property it felt like we were in the wilderness but it is only 10 minutes from any store or restaurant that we wanted to go to. The fishing was great and the fire pit off the kitchen was our favorite evening location.

bait-and-switch

The house is wonderful in all ways. My issue has more to do with the marketing. The final price is essentially double what you see as the "total" when you start your search. It feels dishonest when fees, only presented after you have search through many alternatives have this much impact on the final cost. I really want to know the actual "total" cost when I am comparing options rather than some "total" that is not a "total" in any way.

Relaxing wonderful home

This is a beautiful home with ample parking, a great view of the lake, at the end of the street. We went in late December and it was quiet and beautiful. Debra was available for questions we had and the internet, electricity, kitchen appliances worked great. The cooking utensils made it fun and it was perfect for a quiet family gathering. I even love the board games she had available. We initially had trouble finding the thermostats in the bedroom, but once we found them, we had heating in the kids' bedroom. The heating in the master bedroom was broken. The fireplace we discovered was also not working, and Debra was helpful in having her neighbor take a look while we were out. However, it needed more maintenance, and I would have loved it if it was checked out prior to our visit. Otherwise, it was an amazing, five-star stay and I would stay there again, especially in the summer (there is also a canoe and a dock for the lake!). The location is also close to many grocery stores, churches, shopping, etc but feels remote and quiet.
