Spectacular Contemporary Vacation Rental on the lagoon across from the Pacific Ocean in Carlsbad!

Are you looking for a spacious property with stunning whitewater ocean views and peaceful serenity? This is the place! Rare double Cul de Sac location provides unsurpassed peace and relaxation at the beach! There are ocean views from nearly every room!

Huge 'sky deck" with forever ocean views! The deck has comfy outdoor furniture and a natural gas fire table and grill. Inside there are European commercial appliances, a natural gas fire place, high efficiency forced air heating and air conditioning, 55' Smart TV and super-fast, reliable high speed internet access/wi-fi 250+Mbps. We also have outdoor security cameras that record video and audio for added safety.

There is no carpeting - just luxurious stonework and porcelain floors. The residence is fully furnished, the kitchens fully equipped. We provide all linens and beach towels. We also provide beach chairs, beach umbrellas, Boogie Boards, sand toys, and 2 beach cruisers. When you return from the beach, there is an outdoor natural stone beach shower and more fun in our garage game room with pinball, Pac Mac, and Foosball.

There are 3 rental options at Kai.

Rent the upper level Ohana Suite (3 Bedroom / 3 Bath).
Rent the main level Lanai Suite (2 bedroom / 2 Bath).
Or combine the 2 Suites and rent the entire Kai residence (5 Bedroom / 5 Bath)

Each suite can be completely independent of the other - private locked entrance, private kitchen, private baths and private deck.

No pets or smoking permitted anywhere on the property.


A 10-minute walk on a sandy path around the lagoon to the beach. One mile to the charming Village of Carlsbad for shopping, dining, and nightlife.

Beautiful stay

Beautiful view every minute we were there! The house is gorgeous and it was tough to leave. Great location to get on the path to the beach. If we are out in Carlsbad again, we would love to stay here again.

Long Weekend Away

This property is beautiful and quiet! The cleanliness of the space fully allowed you to be at ease and relax. Nancy was prompt and accommodating. Extraordinary Property

We booked four weeks. The partially covered deck is amazing with views of both the lagoon and ocean. Furnishings, appliances are five star too. The property is completely quiet and private being on a dead end street and no residences behind it. The close proximity to the Carlsbad Village boardwalk is also a plus. Carlsbad Village nearby is full of boutiques and restaurants. We booked again for 2026! The Property Manager communicated frequently and was helpful and responsive. A five star plus property.

Amazing Carlsbad Getaway

This property is exactly as listed! We had two adults and three teens and it was perfect! A quick walk to the beach, a wonderful view and so relaxing! Nancy is so responsive and helpful- couldn’t have asked for a better host! The game room in the garage was a teen dream and they loved it! The bikes, boogie boards, towels, wagons (and more) that were provided in the garage were so wonderful! They really thought of everything when creating this rental! We will 100% for sure be back!

Beautiful and clean property.

A renter should bring seasonings, foil, and zip loc bags. We enjoyed the view, garage toys and convenience of washer/dryer. The unit is 5 minutes to Downtown Carlsbad.

Great location and wonderful stay

This home is perched above a lagoon a short walk (5 min) to the beach. It is also a short walk to downtown Carlsbad. The house has a great kitchen and absolutely wonderful deck. There are 2 units in the house - both are lovely and both have great views. The the main floor (where we stayed) has 2 bedrooms. The upstairs is larger. The two units are completely separate but would work out well for large parties looking to rent the whole house (especially two families). Internet works well. And they have all you need for the beach: beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, beach towels, beach wagons to haul everything down. Also have a good selection of beach cruiser bicycles. Just bring your swimsuit and sunscreen!

Perfect, from beginning to end

This property, and property management was absolutely incredible. Perfect location to beaches. Perfect location to downtown and everything SD has to offer. The game room was fully stocked with beach toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, wagons and lots of fun games for the kids to play. Definitely staying here again!

Great place to stay. Absolutely awesome spot in Carlsbad.

Very clean and well maintained unit. Made use of the open deck, grill and fire pit. Great ocean view and convenient to downtown Carlsbad within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Only a 10 minute walk to the beach. No complaints at all and we all had a great time.
