What to visit in the surroundings
In Castellammare Del Golfo there are many things to see. Between one bath and another, in a crystal clear sea, do not forget to satiate the spirit and absolutely visit the following places.
Belvedere
An ideal obligatory stop both day and evening. A splendid view of the Gulf and the city that in the evening its lights make it look like a crib.
Church of Maria Santissima del Rosario
It is small, not centrally located, but absolutely worth visiting. It has a particular history which makes it even more fascinating.
Port of Castellammare del Golfo
From here many tours to the Zingaro reserve and other interesting places in the surroundings leave. The evening walk along the harbor is a must, with many cafes and restaurants and a view of the illuminated city.
Oriented Nature Reserve of the Zingaro
A wonderful place with its many coves ideal for those who love natural beauty.
Scopello tuna
A suggestive environment in which the history of an activity has marked time. A place where narrations, legends told by fishermen, place you in a colorful atmosphere of ancient traditions.
Arab Norman Castle
The Arab-Norman castle of Castellammare del Golfo dates back to 1154 and its construction is attributed to the Arabs who built it on a rocky spur connected to the mainland via a drawbridge. Later it was enlarged by the Normans, and finally became an important Swabian fortress. Today the castle has been restored and houses, inside, the museum complex "The memory of the Mediterranean",
Church of Maria SS. of Relief
The Mother Church, dedicated to the Patroness Maria SS del Soccorso, is the most sacred place in Castellammare del Golfo. It was built in the first half of the 1700s under the direction of the architect Giuseppe Mariani.
