About this property

Highside Farm Cottage

This lovely old stone-built cottage is located at the base of Frostrow Fell with its own private access. It is located just 1.5 miles from the town of Sedbergh. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms and has one double and one twin bedroom. It has a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with wood burning stove, access upstairs is via a stone winding staircase. Off road parking and a dedicated private garden with stone flagged patio is available outside.

Situated to the south of the town, with its raised elevation the Cottage enjoys uninterrupted views of the Howgill fells and the town and is a perfect base for exploring this lovely part of the country. Access is via a narrow lane and long private driveway providing perhaps one of the quietest and secluded spots in the area. The property is situated within our own farm land and is located 1/2 a mile from the nearest highway.

Amenities: Oil fired central heating with additional electric underfloor heating downstairs and woodburning stove. Electric oven and hob, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, iron and Smart TV with Freeview & radio, fast fibre broadband. Fuel and power included. Bed linen and towels included with a cot and highchair on request. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops, pubs, restaurant and golf course 1.5 miles. Please check Airb&b for feedback.
Please note: while we are happy to accept well behaved children, it’s worth remembering that the cottage’s strong points are the remote location and quiet surroundings. It’s therefore maybe not the ideal location for the younger child. Thanks for your understanding.

Happy holiday in the Howgills
Hillside Farm Cottage was ideally located between the Dales and the Lakes, with the bonus attraction of Sedbergh and the Howgills Fells. We had wonderful walks in the Lakes and explored the beautiful villages of Dent Sedbergh and Hawes. As well as having a wonderful walk up into the Howgills. The views from the top towards the Lakes and Dales were sublime. The Cottage is half way up the Frostrop Fell and it was great to capture glimpses of the cottage on our return back down into Sedbergh. On a wet day we were close enough to explore Carlisle visiting its historic Centre and castle. The M6 is only 6 miles away making Northern and Southern Lakes accessible. The Cottage was extremely comfortable. tastefully decorated and fully equipped with everything you would need. It is situated at the end of a farm track high on the hills but close enough to Sedbergh for a meal or takeaway if wanted.. The walk into Sedbergh across the fell was lovely. Julian was discretely welcoming The lemon drizzle cake and milk on arrival were a nice touch. We unreservedly give this property five stars.
