Charming Stone Cottage Property with pool and great views

Les Cent Chênes is an old, fully restored stone property tucked in on the southward slope of the hill where the small village of Goussargues is found. The property consists of 4 cottages placed on a large gardened terrace, hidden by stone walls and oak trees. It is suited for up to 14 people, and can make a wonderful base for the holiday for 1-4 families. All 4 cottages are rented to just a single tenant at a time. A 4m x 7m private swimming pool is included. A local couple maintains the property and pool and is available throughout your rental period for questions, etc. Suitable for families looking for a rustic and close to nature experience. There are half-a-dozen bicycles available for shopping and exploring. A part from the stone villages and old bridges over the river Cèze there are quiet areas for swimming as well. Goussargues is about 2 km from Verfeuil, 6 km from Goudargues, and 12 km from Bagnols-sur-Cêze.

Maison accueillante

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour en famille dans ce gîte rustique mais bien pensé. La maison et la terrasse sont fraîches quand il fait chaud dehors.Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la piscine et les équipements de la maison. Le châlet indépendant est un vrai plus pour les ados qui souhaitent un peu d'indépendance. Maria est très accueillante et souriante.

L'environnement est calme et permets de se ressourcer. Nous n'avons pas souffert de la chaleur malgré la canicule. Ian est très réactif et à l'écoute. Maria est adorable. Le seul bémol la présence de beaucoup de moustiques.

Nous avons fêté l'entrée à la retraite de Jean-François et tous nos enfants ont partagé l'événement avec nous. Nous avons été jusqu'à 16 personnes. C'était génial et l'endroit s'y prête à merveille. Maria et Louis de Goussargues sont adorables et très serviables.

Heerlijk huis

We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad in dit huis. Ondanks dat we 2 weken erg hoge temperaturen hadden (tussen de 35 en 40 graden, iedere dag), was het prima te doen. Vooral het zwembad was met deze hoge temperaturen natuurlijk een uitkomst, fantastisch! Alle kamers waren bovendien voorzien van een ventilator (geen airco, maar dat is begrijpelijk) zodat we ook lekker hebben geslapen, ondanks de hoge temperaturen 's nachts. De buitenruimte is ook echt fantastisch. Groot genoeg om ruimte te bieden aan 10 of meer volwassenen, met genoeg schaduwplekken voor iedereen. Binnen is de ruimte wat kleiner, maar daar hadden we geen last van aangezien we alles buiten deden, eten, lezen, etcetera. Keuken en sanitair was allemaal prima in orde. Alles wat we nodig hadden was aanwezig (behalve dan een nespresso apparaat dus die hadden we zelf meegenomen). Sanitair en keukenapparatuur is modern, schoon en werkt allemaal goed, top! Communicatie met de eigenaar verliep erg prettig en het beheerders-echtpaar was erg vriendelijk en bereid om zaken te regelen wanneer nodig, zoals extra handdoeken. Al met al een top verblijf!

Idéal pour groupe ou famille avec ados

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. L'ensemble de notre groupe, composé de 3 familles avec ados, a apprécié les aménagements extérieurs (piscine, barbecue à gaz, vélos, terrasse équipée d'un grand salon de jardin et de tables pour les repas extérieurs) dont nous avons profité. La maison est bien équipée pour la capacité d'accueil (vaisselle, plats, 2 réfrigérateurs). Encore merci à Maria pour son accueil, sa disponibilité et sa gentillesse. L'emplacement permet de rayonner facilement dans la région et de profiter des produits régionaux. Très bonne boulangerie à Verfeuil (5mn). Repos sous le chant des cigales assuré.

Une bien belle region

Nous avons passé 2 très bonnes semaines à 13 dans cette propriété. Belle situation en pleine nature et très bien équipée (couverture wifi optimale), la maison offre un séjour agréable. Le jardin, les nombreuses places assises à l'extérieur ainsi qu'une piscine très bien située ajoutent encore au plaisir. Seuls bémols sont les escaliers de la chambre des enfants qui mériteraient une rambarde car étroits et pentus, ainsi que la place limitée en intérieur pour une famille nombreuse (on ne peut pas manger à 13 dedans).

Un écrin de verdure

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour dans cette propriété. Les maisons et le jardin ont beaucoup de charme. On se sent vraiment au cœur d’un écrin de verdure tout en étant connecté à un petit village. Tout l’équipement nécessaire est présent. La piscine très jolie et juste de la bonne dimension et la douche extérieure sans vis à vis nous projetant dans le grand paysage est un grand plus. Maria et Louis qui gèrent le domaine ont été très réactifs et attentionnés. Il serait cependant important de donner un peu plus d’infos sur l’organisation des chambres. Une des chambre double étant en contrebas du reste de la maison. Une des chambre double totalement ouverte et en mezzanine sur la cuisine principale. Et la chambre d’enfants (3 lits simples) accessible seulement par un escalier extérieur pas utilisable par de jeunes enfants... Cela ne nous a pas empêcher de passer un merveilleux séjour mais nous aurions apprécié comprendre mieux en avance cette configuration des lieux ! Merci encore !

Gold star experience in magical house.

We were a group of 80 + grandmothers, 50 + and 20+ family members and we all thought it was the perfect holiday. We loved the house, the grounds, the walks, everything and we will be coming back.

It is cozy and ideally located - nothing seemed more than 25 minutes away by car. The couple who maintain the property were very kind and responsive. We had a wonderful stay here!

Hameau charmant et de caractère Avec tout le confort moderne nécessaire

Nous avons eu un Grand coup de coeur pour La region, les baignades dans la rivière, le canoë, les visites de ravissants villages et marchés provençaux, dégustations de vin, ballades champêtres... Nos Vacances dans le gîte étaient superbes, parfait pour un grand groupe d'amis et en famille. Tres jolie petite piscine bien sécurisée, une terrasse très agréable pour déjeuner, diner et observer les étoiles, entouré de nature à perte de vue... Attention, un chalet se trouve en bas de la montée par rapport à la maison principale, tres bien équipé et totalement indépendant Mais à éviter avec de petits enfants/bébés et pour les plus âgés. Notez aussi un petit bémol dans la maison principale : une chambre est en mezzanine donnant sur la cuisine (sur les 7 chambres en tout). Une chambre est prévue Avec 3 lits simples aussi et sans wc/salle de bain en haut d'un escalier très raide. L'accueil de Maria et Louis etait irréprochable. Un couple adorable et tres disponible, merci à eux

Einfach nur SEIN

Das Anwesen liegt in einer wunderbaren Landschaft . Einfaches, sehr sauberes Steinhaus, zu Wohlfühlen. Der Vermieter ist unkompliziert und sehr zuvorkommend, auch die Verwalterin Maria ist ein richtiger Goldschatz . Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus liegt abseits und doch sehr zentral, für Wanderungen, Ausflüge etc. Ich kann das Anwesen jederzeit weiterempfehlen. Nochmals ein herzliches Dankeschön. Sandra

A truly wonderful holiday exceeded our expectation

This is a French home which we felt we had been priviledged to have been allowed to have for 3 weeks in this wonderful area. We celebrated 2 special occasions with our large family, all of the accomodation was homely clean with all that we needed. We were able to have privacy in the individual cottages but there was a wonderful seated area and dining area to accommodate our 14 guests. The cottages are in a lovely little village. Quiet with very kind and friendly neighbours. There are too many lovely villages to mention but great cycling opportunities around. Verfuil has a lovely boulangerie which we visited mornings. It is a peaceful and tranquil haven and we could not recommend it highly enough. Thankyou to the owners you have a very special place .we are delighted we had the opportunity to share it

Fantastisk feriested

Gennem de sidste 12 år har vi holdt 14 dages ferie på det skønne sted ”Les Cent Chenes” i den lille fine, bakkede landsby Goussargues. De sidste 8 år sammen med svoger og svigerinde, og derudover har vi haft forskellige gæster. Det har været børn med børnebørn, men også venner har kigget forbi og er blevet adskillige dage. Der er forskellige huse bygget traditionelt af sten, og der er rigtig god plads, så man kan sagtens være sig selv indimellem og lave forskellige ting samtidig. Der er mange separate sovepladser egne indgange og toiletter. At sidde på stenterrassen og kigge ud over dalen, en lavendelmark med nogle bjerge i baggrunden fuldstændig fredeligt, er bare det skønneste. Derudover er der en herlig pool i den ene ende af grunden, hvor man kan svømme rundt eller flyde på en luftmadras og kigge ud over træer og marker. Her må jeg fortælle, at jeg er kørestolsbruger (manuel), og at det er så vidunderligt, at poolen har hejs med sejl, så man kan blive liftet i bassin eller ned på en luftmadras. Her tilbringer jeg hvert år mange timer. Som kørestolsbruger kan man selvfølgelig ikke være i huset uden hjælp. Men med en minicrosser, så man kan komme op til huset fra parkeringspladsen, - der er stejlt, og der er nogle hårnålesving at forcere, en WC/badestol - der er udendørs bad nær ved poolen - og en mand eller hjælper til at rulle lidt rundt med én, når det er nødvendigt, er det et helt vidunderligt sted. Minicrosseren er i øvrigt god til en tur i bjergene bagved huset, på div. markeder og i de to ”stejle” byer La Roque-sur-Céze og Saint Quentin la Poterie. I den nærmeste by Goudargues, hvor der i øvrigt er marked hver onsdag, ligger der skønne restauranter langs kanalen, der flyder igennem byen under platantræerne. Og så er der masser af udflugtsmål ud over de allerede nævnte: Uzès, Le pont du Gard, Nimes, og hvis man vil køre langt en dag Carmarguen med flamingoer, hvide heste og sorte tyre, samt Aigues Mortes (korsriddernes udskibningshavn - kom tidligt, der er mange besøgende).

Great environment for a summer holiday

Great environment for a summer holiday. The outside is fantastic. Nice pool, well maintained by the caretaker. Great terrace, with all you need in terms of places to relax, eat, play, ... The inside is cosy, but a little dark perhaps. But that should not be problem for summer, as you live outside most of the time. Even when it rains, you can sit on a covered terrace.

Charm, Charm…Charm!

My family and I spent our Easter vacation at this rental property. It was just what we expected. Comfortable beds in private cottages well appointed with individual kitchens and baths. We enjoyed the small town nearby where we went for our daily croissant and coffee. The beauty of the area and availability to nearby day-trip destinations made this a wonderful location for us. The pool and outside terraces were beautiful although we did not have the weather to enjoy them. We are already planning a return trip next year during warmer weather and will book this place again.

La Belle Vie en France.

Een geweldige ervaring en zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Het huis en de bijgebouwtjes bieden voldoende ruimte en privacy om met meerdere stellen vakantie te vieren. Uitrusting en faciliteiten zijn prima in orde en de inrichting is in gezellige "brocante" stijl en past bij het huis en de omgeving. Vanaf het terras een indrukwekkend uitzicht en bij lekkere temperatuur is het zwembad heerlijk. Huis is oud met in stijl gerenoveerde ruimtes goed onderhouden en schoon. De gezamenlijke binnenruimte, woonkamer, is wat klein bij een grotere groep maar de buitenruimte en tuin is zeer riant en geeft het huis de leuke charme en uitstraling. Communicatie met de eigenaar verliep erg prettig en het beheerders-echtpaar was erg vriendelijk. We zullen vast nog een keer terug gaan.

Ein kleines, liebevolles Paradies

Traumhaft schönes, liebevolles, wirklich gut ausgestattetes Haus in ruhiger Lage. Ideal für Urlaub mit 2 Familien. Vorsicht mit kleinen Kindern wegen steiler Treppen. Schöner, sauberer Pool. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Verwalterehepaar, allerdings muß man schon ein bischen Französich sprechen können. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Kontaktaufnahme über den Besitzer völlig problemlos, alle Fragen wurden im Vorfeld gut beantwortet.

The place is a little paradise

The place really is a little paradise, with lots of space at different terrains and levels, beautiful nature, a splendid view and with much privacy, on the outskirts of the small and quiet village of Goussargues. In short, the location and ambiance can be appraised as excellent. The accommodation is split across three restored old rural cottages which together offer a lot of sleeping and cooking facilities. We only used the main cottage which is very characteristic yet somewhat crammed with 'collections'. We rate the housing accommodation as good, with lots of charm and very spacious. However one should not expect the highest level of comfort. There is a nice private swimming pool with clean water that is frequently maintained by a very friendly and helpful caretaker. Goussargues is a few kilometers away from Goudargues, which is a very charming village on the banks of the clean river Cèze. We left Les Cent Chênes with very pleasant feelings and would definitely consider to come back.

My parents originally bought this property, and it has been a family vacation place for me and my 7 siblings for many years, so there are many fond memories of the place, the people and the area. We are a family from Denmark so having such a great holiday place has been a real treat for us all.
All rental revenues are reinvested into the property keeping it's maintenance at a high level, yet retaining its unique rustic character.
