We had a great time staying in Currawong Cottage. Lovely surroundings, very close to Selwyn Snow Fields and even my children enjoyed the local dog "Max" playing ball with them. Happy to stay again but a small suggestion that the bedrooms may need some heaters to warm the rooms as the heat from the fire place just didn't reach and were very cold at night.

Hello to The Rond Family, Thanks so much your feedback, we get a kick out of renting "Currawong Cottage" and really glad you wrote such an informative rating, we will definitely take into consideration the suggestion on warming those rooms up and move forward to improve the current situation. We love Anglers Reach sooooo much we have purchased another in same area, a little bigger than "Currawong Cottage", will be super for two families to enjoy. Pass the word around. Looking forward to your next contact. Pete & Jenni
The cottage is lovely and it is located in a beautiful quiet spot at Anglers Reach. When we arrived it had been snowing which was very exciting and we enjoyed walking down to check out the lake. There were lots of birds, kangaroos and wombats and it was a nice scenic drive to the snow. Jenni and Pete are very friendly and easy to communicate with which made organising our stay stress free.
Great place to stay. There is no phone reception, which made it a great break from reality. Would have been great to have another heater in the place at night. Beautiful and peaceful location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. Excellent proximity to the snow, and beautiful wildlife all around. Important to know there is no phone or wifi, but a public phone nearby at the caravan park (which also sells milk, bread etc). Also very important to ask how to operate a wood fire if you do not know, we needed it and enjoyed it very much. The oil heater in the main bedroom is a fantastic addition - keeps the downstairs room cosy warm in the evening. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Great cosy place with everything you need for a relaxing time in anglers reach. Kids loved it. Would love to stay again.

A great getaway cottage
Once again we enjoyed our stay in August, with blue sky days and plenty of snow at Selwyn. We have stayed at Currawong several times in recent years and love the comfortable, relaxed feel of the place. The location is ideal as a base for fishing or skiing. To come home to a warm fire after a long day cross-country skiing in the high country or fishing on the lake is always appreciated. We had such a good time we'll be back again in a week or two! As always, many thanks Jenni and Peter, for the use of your cosy cottage!

Lovely setting, well equipped cottage but dated furniture and very cold.
We stayed for 9 nights. Firstly the positives. The setting was beautiful, even though the lake was so low we couldn't even see it from the house! Wildlife everywhere, and very quiet surroundings. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable but there were some negatives. The decor was old and dated and is in need of an update. Some rugs in the bedrooms would be helpful in the winter too. The fire air vent seemed blocked so it would only smolder, at a very low heat, rather than burn so we had to put wood on overnight (ie 2am) just to keep it burning. And it was still less than 5 degrees in the main bedroom and bathroom on most nights (even with the wet rooms closed up). A few blown bulbs which can be easily overlooked. No washing facilities (and local caravan parks don't allow the facilities to be used as we were informed by the owner) and only tank water made washing difficult. Absolutely no phone reception (not even emergency calls) with Telstra so needless to say no internet either. No boardgames as stated in the ad, and tv in 2nd bedroom is so old it can only be used as a DVD player (also none at the house like the ad said). And no free-to-air tv. Most of these things (with the exception of the fire) wouldn't be a problem if we had known before arrival. We had a hard drive of movies that wouldn't work on the smallish tv in the lounge room, and only a few games etc so we had to buy things (another unexpected expense). No washing for a family of 4 for 10 days was not ideal. Was somewhat disappointing, but all negatives aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days in the snowy mountains. Beautiful countryside.

Lovely stay
My wife and I celebrated our second year anniversary at the cozy Currawong Cottage, along with our 6 month old son. It was a wildly wintery weekend, so we were very glad to keep warm by the fire, with plenty of wood supply. It’s a pretty timber cottage with neat bedrooms. The backdrop from the boucany is very beautiful with wildlife in amongst the alpine gums. This was a nice setting for some family photos. We enjoyed a journey to the nearby Yarrangobilly Caves where we took Jenni’s advice to explore South Glory and Jillibenan Caves, and a dip in the thermal pool. A wonderfully memorable weekend.

Lovely and Cozy Cottage
The cottage is really a nice place to relax and unwind. It is exceptionally clean and has everything you would need to have a relaxing stay.
It was nice to have a fireplace to use as it did get a bit cold. We have never used one, but with the logs of wood available, it was so easy to use.
The places around were also beautiful and we wouldn't think twice of visiting again.

Rustic cottage set amongst an amazing landscape!
Wow! What a location! We stayed here whilst on our first family ski trip to Selwyn Snowfields. We loved it! The rustic little cottage is charming and is situated in the most peaceful of surrounds. The landscape is breathtaking. Eerily quiet at times, the only sound was from the bird song coming from the hills opposite. There is an abundance of wildlife in the bush in front of the property that leads to the waterfront below – wallabies hop between the houses, wombats, echidnas, and beautiful wild flowers popup from amongst the scrub. One day the vista was this rugged, red-earth landscape, and the next it was dramatically transformed into icy shrubs and soft snow fields – enough snow fall for our little girl to glide on her skis down to the water's edge. Simply gorgeous!
