Comfortable house, beautiful neighborhood, fantastic property manager, everything was wonderful
We had a beautiful experience at the Lodge. The neighborhood was friendly, peaceful and quiet. The Lodge (both Unit 1 and 2) were very cozy and had most of everything we needed. (Owner will let you know what to bring to the Lodge before hand). The owner is very thoughtful, informative and caring. She answered my many questions very quickly when I was planning for the trip. She is a very nice lady. We had a fantastic time and felt very recharged. We traveled to the Yarrangobilly caves (only 1 hr away) which are amazing. We like the history and the locals in Adaminaby, bought groceries, had dinner at the Bowling Club Bistro there. I highly recommend the Thai Country Massage in Adaminaby (owner is Liam Johnson). Lake Eucombene was within walking distance. We saw an eagle, a rare black cockatoo, an echidna, lots of kangaroos, rabbits and yellow crested cockatoos. The sunset was beautiful but beware of mosquitos. The drive from Cooma to the Lodge was easy and smooth. It was only between 45 minutes to 1 hour. While it was very hot in major cities, the Lodge offered us fresher, cooler air and a magnificent view. We had two 10 year old girls staying with us briefly. They had so much fun. They were busy catching grass hoppers and running after kangaroos. When the Lake water level is higher, you can hire a boat with life jackets in nearby Caravan park. We couldn't this time because the Lake water level was too low. We also enjoyed walking around in nearby neighborhood just to explore. (but please be careful of the kangaroos hitting your car in the evening). My parents in their 70s also enjoyed their stay very much. Bringing a nice camera with you is a must! Only Telstra network works in the neighborhood. I had informed Carole that the DVD in Unit 2 didn't work. We would love to come back again. Thank you Carole!
Thank you for your lovely review, and also for your care of our property. I am sorry your stay coincided with a very challenging time, being when the dreadful bushfires were just starting. At least you managed to enjoy most of the week before the roads were closed and the area evacuated! You are most welcome to return at any time.
Amazing views, so relaxing!
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was so relaxing and the view was just stunning. There were so many things to do and explore in the area, from caves to thermal pools, to bush walks. One of the favourite part of our days was coming back to have a glass of vino and a beer on the balcony, watching the sunset over the lake - amazing!
Thank you Haley. We hope you can come back again soon.
Wonderful view from the deck
Very comfortable and warm home Fully self contained with everything you need (other than washing machine but who wants to do laundry on holiday!)
Thanks for our stay!
Lovely spot right right by the lake.
Thank you Emma! You are always welcome
What a Spot!!!
My husband, I and our 2 children had a wonderful holiday in the lodge during what was a very chilly week in July, which suited us perfectly as we were here to experience the beautiful snowy mountains. The lodge was warm and comfortable with beautiful views across the lake! We were skiing at Selwyn and it was an easy 40min drive and we were on snow which was fantastic!
The lodge had everything we needed! We will be back for sure!!! Thank You!!!
Thank you Jessica - we are delighted you and your family enjoyed your stay. Your kind review is very much appreciated. You are welcome back any time!
Carole, Fibbers Lodge
Loved our stay at Fibbers Lodge
We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at Fibbers lodge.
The highlights for us were the beautiful views across the lake, the functional space, plenty of options for warmth (fireplace, portable heaters + wall mounted heaters in lounge room, main bedroom and bathroom). The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was perfectly sized and equipped for cooking. We loved the easy access to Mt Selwyn and the opportunities for 4WDing on local tracks and around the water. Having foxtel was a lovely bonus and helped keep our 2 year old entertained.
Only areas for improvement were that the lounge could be replaced with one that is more comfortable (it had a broken leg but wasn't comfortable to sit on anyway) and perhaps some basic amenities like salt & pepper could be provided. The people staying in the other unit arrived on Thursday night at about 1am. Because their stairs and bedroom are above the bedroom we were sleeping in we were awoken as they clomped up and down the steps and were rolling their suitcases around for over an hour above our heads. Not the fault of the owners, but maybe guests in Lodge 1 could be made aware of this (that their bedroom is right above the bedroom in the other lodge).
Thanks Laura, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry about the broken couch - this will be fixed soon! We did request of the guests in Unit 1 to be considerate of the noise they were making, as we knew they were arriving late. Unfortunately it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Thanks for the feedback about the condiments. We will try to rectify that for next season. You are welcome back any time.
Close to Mount Selwyn family ski resort, it is also within a two hour drive to Thredbo and other ski resorts. Great trout fishing across Lake Eucumbene. Great hiking and horse riding throughout the Snowy Mountains and Kosciusko National Park
