Tumut
The cottage was perfect for our trip. The aspect being near the river was ideal and it was well equipped for our stay. Brett was very helpful and gave useful advice regarding best places to visit. We will certainly stay again.

We will be back again
Loved our stay. My husband and teen/adult children all loved this place and would definitely go back again. The kids fished twice a day (although didn’t catch anything 😉) and we enjoyed having so much space! We visited the brewery, the broom factory and enjoyed some thrift shopping in town. We had a big cook up for breakfast one morning and sat and ate in the garden whilst watching the cows and listening to all the birds. Great family get away. Thanks Brett.

Platypus Cottage
Just had two lovely nights in the Platypus Cottage. Something different to stay on a working farm and we particularly enjoyed an open fire right on the bank of the Tumut river.

Couldn't Pay Us to Stay There Again
Never have I experienced such appalling behaviour from a "host". We booked here because it allowed dogs (ours is old, blind & immobile). We arrived & began unpacking. Brett followed & immediately began to scold us for bringing our dog (who was still in the truck at the time). While he acknowledged that he used to allow dogs, Stayz mustn't have updated his info (which he recently changed to "no pets"). We have a 3 year old daughter & weren't about to turn around. He didn't apologise or try to maintain any sort of professionalism, rather he made it clear that we should be so lucky to put our 12 year pup on his patio... and then charge us full price for it! Out of options, we reluctantly agreed. He then proceeded to subtly dig anywhere he could "this is why I hate 3rd party sites.." as if we should feel bad about booking through one. It didn't stop there. The condescending tone droned on into how to manage our daughter, his upset that we wanted 2 local friends over for dinner, quips about city people & endless passive-aggressive digs. We agreed to all his terms, hoping he'd leave so we could settle in. It gets worse. In an attempt to "bust us" he came by to "check water" while we were out. Using an open door as an excuse (we did not leave a door open), he snooped around our stuff and accused us of bringing our dog inside because the blanket was at the back door (we'd moved it slightly inside so it didn't blow away while we were out). Then he text us to say that a snake had come inside and we should be careful. When we asked what kind of snake it was because, you know, we have a 3 year old, he admitted that there was no snake but we should learn to keep the door closed. Again, we did not leave the screen open - Brett wanted an excuse to snoop. Talk about embarrassing behaviour for a grown man. It gets worse still. Brett has 1990's blinds. When we closed them one evening, one of the vertical slats fell down. No big deal, we thought. We went to clip it back in only to notice that there was a wad of super glue hanging from it. Someone had clearly tried to repair it before. In his typical belittling fashion, he blamed us. When we vehemently denied any involvement (we were starting to get fed up), he said he was going to call the past guests about it! It's called "wear & tear". That could have been a decade old! Summary? I spent three days looking out the window waiting to see Brett to tell him my thoughts. Here you go, Brett. Adios.
