What a beautiful house to stay in! Very well maintained, firewood provided, comfortable beds, plenty of space, lovely outdoor area for a bbq and most importantly a very nice host! Will definitely recommend and stay here again in the future.

We were motorbike riding at Louee motocross complex and needed somewhere close with everything we needed, we found that here, quiet, friendly town close to where we were heading.

As the three of us grew up in the area it is always lovely to visit again. Plenty of fond memories of the area. Just found the security lock for key a bit tricky after you arrive from a long trip. Will know for next time! House very well equiped. Thanks for stay.

Extra beds were not needed the House was booked for two adults ,no children, but there were children and at least 4 adults, every bed was used so they received good value

Well positioned and Welcoming

We based ourselves in Kandos to attend a family gathering nearby over the June long weekend. This left us too little time to explore more of the area but this cottage provided an excellent base to do that (next time). The cottage was older but had great spaces and all we needed. The wood fire was wonderful (and necessary) with snow on the mountains nearby chilling the air. We missed seeing snow on Mt Baldy, in the ‘backyard’ by a day. By day three we felt very much at home and wished we could have stayed longer.

BEAUTIFUL KANDOS

Wonderful place to stay in a very quiet area with everything we needed-very comfortable & great wood heater. Layout of the house worked perfectly for 3 couples in our late 70's & early 80's-2 bathrooms was a definite plus. Great sunroom at back of house which the 3 "girls" used as a sewing room. Also spectacular view of mountain behind. Will definitely be staying at Cass Cottage again. Also amazing places to visit nearby-Rylestone-Mudgee-Millthorpe. But Dunn's Swamp was our favourite. Glen Davis worth visiting but suggest going by Capertee as there is only a small section of dirt road. If you go via Rylestone there are a lot of bone shaking dirt sections. We only had 1 night eating out & visited the Kandos Returned Services Community Club in Dangar Street. Probably the best Asian meal we have ever had at an incredibly low price. We also all loved Cass Cottage with the amazing art work done by it's very talented Members.

Charming quarters and surprising amount of space

Like a clown car, this house fits more than it seems - we were pleasantly surprised to find 2 large bedrooms with 2 or 3 singles, each with heaps of floor space for children to play and share as well as an additional double room at the rear of the house. With 3 showers and 2 toilets, 2 living rooms each with TV, and spacious dining table, the house was well equipped to cater to our large group. Walking distance to the local historical museum, IGA/liquer store, bakeries, pub, pizza, Vinnies etc we had an amazing time exploring the surrounds. The locals are incredibly friendly, and our home had a huge backyard filled with flowers and trees that the kids loved playing in. The house has little notes with tips and advise all over the place, and we didn't lack for anything - one note says to ensure to lock up the wood shed as the contents "disappears", consider the mystery of the missing wood solved, as the neighbours 12-13 yo son appears for a visit every time he thought we all left the house to inspect the shed and help himself.

What a devil we knew that wood was dissapearing and wondered how they could get into the shed between guests, now we know that it is while there are guests there, and they do not lock the shed each time they go out so it is easy for him to help himself. Was he from over the road or from the house next door on the left from the street ? I will get someone to watch out. I hope you enjoyed your stay and I am glad that you liked the cottage.
