Our home is very much a "one of kind" place which radiates charm and ambiance . It encompasses unusual architecture - original wood windows, high lofted and beamed ceilings. Between the rear of the cottage and the garage we have a expansive deck with steps leading down to the garden and the driveway. Eclectic garden with mature oak trees oodles of succulents and garden art.

This house is wonderful. Great location with all the comforts of home. Would recommend to anyone looking for a special place to stay on the Monterey Peninsula.
We found the Little Blue Cottage on the Hill to be charming from the moment we walked in the door. The owners have decorated both indoors and outdoors in a way that makes one feel cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, tableware and appliances, so eating in is enjoyable. The location is central to downtown Pacific Grove and downtown Monterey. Carmel is minutes away, and if you like live performances, be sure to check the schedule at Sunset Center. Cable TV and internet work well. We thoroughly enjoyed our monthlong stay here. Linda and Charles offer many amenities to make you feel at home.

Charming Cottage/Great Location!
We stayed at this cozy cottage with a great location. The cottage was well-equipped with everything you need. The Owner and Property Manager were welcoming and had thoughtfully stocked the refrigerator with some basic necessities. The kitchen and bath have been recently remodeled. We loved hanging out at the kitchen table. The whole place was neat and clean. Both bedrooms had very comfortable beds with
plenty of dresser and closet space.
We loved that it was so close to the things we wanted to do. The location has convenient access to Monterey Aquarium, Fisherman’s Wharf area, a grocery store, and it's just a 10 minute drive to Carmel-By-the-Sea.
It has a cute backyard area and plenty of parking.
We would definitely recommend a stay!
Very clean and well furnished; didn't have to bring anything. Great location and a very responsive owner. Brand new washer and dryer worked great. Can't wait to come back some day.
The cottage was immaculate and perfectly appointed. We enjoyed our afternoons lounging on the deck in a very quiet neighborhood. Everything one needs is provided... from kitchenware to bedding to audiovisual (tv/internet). We hated to leave and look forward to returning in the Spring or early Fall. Linda and Charles are a joy to do business with.

Home away from Home - Comfy with Character and Convenient too!
We loved the cottage! This was our first experience renting a VRBO and we couldn't have been more pleased. The owner was helpful and responsive, the cottage itself was perfectly sized for our needs. The cottage was packed with everything you could need and was nearby many local attractions.

Cozy Comfort and Kindness
I can't say enough positive things about my experience staying here! The owner is both kind and attentive in communicating to make sure that everything goes well with your stay. I felt very welcome and very able to ask questions if I had any (they checked in to make sure things were going well regularly). The cottage itself is comfortable, well furnished and appointed with the little things that make such a big difference when you're staying longterm somewhere.

Little Blue Cottage on the hill.
We loved our time at the cottage. The cottage was well stocked with everything you might need and the whole place was as charming as it could be. The garden surrounding the cottage is enchanting. You will find something new to capture your fancy every time you look around. The property is well situated with easy access to Cannery Row, Pacific Grove, Carmel and Monterey. Big sur is just 29 mikes down the road. And the owner, Linda, is responsive and really cares about the quality of your visit. Renting directly from the owner - no management company inthe middle - makes for a much superior experience with no hidden ADD on expenses!

Cozy cottage with delightful ambience
We felt so comfortable at this charming 'Vintage Cottage.' When we walked in, we felt right at home in its delightful and relaxing ambience. I loved the well equipped kitchen, the big windows letting in the sunshine, the comfortable furniture, the warm quilts, the soft bath robes and more thoughtful touches. The electric fireplace insert was enjoyed most nights. We would love to return.

Beautiful blue cottage in monterey
What a beautiful, cozy cottage in an equally gorgeous location. The house is well-appointed and well-equipped for anything you'd like to do from cooking to entertaining a guest or two. Location is residential up on the hill nearby cannery row and with easy drives (or bike rides) to downtown monterey, pacific grove, carmel, point lobos and much more. The backyard is perfect for sitting and reading on a nice day if you don't want to head the few minutes out to the ocean.
You could not ask for more responsive and caring hosts than Linda and Charles. Even when an unlikely power outage in the neighborhood knocked out the hot-water heater, they had a repairman out to fix it in just a few hours. They were easily accessible any day and always immediately responsive.
Definitely would love to stay here again!

A 6 week amazing visit at The Blue Cottage on the Hill
We had a marvelous time this summer at "The Blue Cottage on the Hill'' in Monterey, California. There are attractions, events, restaurants, sightseeing, and fresh seafood within a short radius of this lovely home, nestled on a hill surrounded by the Monterey Bay. The Blue Cottage is quaint, clean, and comfortable. We'll be back next summer for sure and can't wait!
About the host
Hosted by Linda
We were brought to the area through working in the golf media and now are lucky enough to be a home owner here in America's "Capital of Golf."
Why they chose this property
Having travelled to the Monterey Peninsula many times in the past, the opportunity to buy a house in the best county in California was too hard to resist especially with all the sporting and beach activities in close proximity. To say nothing of the restaurants and leisure facilities.
What makes this property unique
We love the home because it's a historic cottage and not a modern new build. It has so many interesting features. Situated on a high point in Monterey with good access North/South/East/West.
