Home away from home!
We would live here if we could. If you are feeling stressed by life and need a reset and time out from the hustle and bustle, you need to stay in this beautiful cottage and lap up all its serenity. The landscape and 360 degree surroundings of this cottage are absolutely gorgeous. We thoroughly enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the creek and all the pretty birds along it. When we were done relaxing, there was plenty of activities to do, including hiking along a mountain top with breathtaking views, walking along the creek beds, and eating a cheese board next to the fire. We now consider this place our home away from home, and will be back again and again and again.

Cute country cottage
We had a lovely weekend away in the country in Darlington. The cottage was well appointed, quaint and carefully stocked with everything we needed. We spent a lot of time around the fire and exploring the grounds. The river with huge fresh water fish was a highlight as were the shy cows that paraded past a couple of times a day. The hosts even let our friends stay in their caravan which was awesome for us to catch up with them. Would definitely return.

Second stay
Its hidden down Kerry Road on the way to the Lost World Valley. Feels a bit like entering Jurassic Park when exploring the cascading creek on the edge of the national park. A great place to take the dog, plenty of walks and we experienced one of the best star lit nights as there is no ambient lights from civilisation.

Extremely pleasant Hideaway
We would recommend Darlington to those who desire a quiet, relaxing few days. Whilst we were not in a position to avail ourselves of the many documented environmental activities, there appears to be no shortage of things to do in a beautiful, natural country setting. Everything was exactly as we hoped!

We loved our weekend, thank you. The lovely back verandah was so cool. Its been years since we have only heard birds and a bubbling brook and cows. Just what the doctor ordered.

Jurassic surroundings
The cottage is perfectly located near the Albert River where you can swim. The road leads to nowhere so the traffic is light. The walks are substantial as is the wildlife. Stayed two nights and felt like we'd been there a week.

Darlington relaxation
Loved our stay in this cottage. Relaxed on the deck and swam in the creek. A map and more details of the bushwalking on the property would be helpful as we got a little lost and the walk was very steep. The bed was also quite soft. Darlington is close to Brisbane but it feels like you are hours away from the city.

Eighteen Miles
Eighteen mile cottage is beautiful, and beautifully located. The cottage itself is very comfortable, and feels like a home. This juxtaposes nicely with the mountain to the east; the back verandah offers excellent views. We brought our three-year old son, and felt comfortable bringing him to the nearby river, where we could explore and cool off from the daytime heat. At night, we enjoyed the fire pit, and watching the sky slowly fill with stars.

Pleasant stay
The host was warm and easy to communicate with. The cottage was quaint, comfortable, very well equipped and clean. The surrounds are peaceful, beautiful and nourishing. There is a sense of space and peace. Easy to have a good sleep. We brought our own ingredients to cook in the kitchen so we were well prepared. Thank you, would recommend and stay again for a quiet relaxing weekend away.

So good do disconnect and unwind
our family wanted a few days away, with fires, walks, river exploration and relaxation and this home is perfect for this. The house is well appointed for your stay and enough space inside for our family of 4. Nice to have a quick personal welcome as well when we arrived just to check in. outside the deck was great for BBQ and reading and we had a little rain but we still spent time on the deck enjoying hearing the river, birds and just no noise at all!! Access to the walking and the river was easy. The kids loved exploring the water, different places to play and cross and it kept them so entertained even in cooler weather. Firepit was perfect for sitting around, red wine and cheese and star gazing. We managed to stay the weekend of the Beaudesert Show which was unplanned but a great way to spend a few hours in town before heading back and enjoying the property for the rest of the weekend. We would love to stay again as it's so easy and peaceful. We really enjoyed not being so connected to tech for a few days and really enjoying our family time and serenity Thank you for allowing our dog to also join us. She loved the exploration and sitting by the fire pit. the fenced back deck is great for the dog to oversee everything and be left safely for a quick trip to town if needed. Recommended this home to everyone to relax and unwind.

Country comfort
We had an enjoyable stay in this lovely old Queenslander which has been well equipped for comfort. The property is set in serene bush surrounds, broken by the occasional sounds of an ornery cow. Plenty of hiking to do, make sure you wear proper gear and take plenty of water if you attempt to tackle the bluff! It was good to have the creek flowing nearby for cooling off after the hikes (dogs and people). Was also great to chill out on the deck with a wine and board games. Something to note if you’re bringing dogs is that there are 3 gates around the boundary they can fit under if they are small or medium size, so either bring something to block the bottom of the gates or supervise when in the yard. They can be shut in on the big rear deck.

A relaxing weekend away
Location was stunning. We loved having access to a private section of Albert creek and being able to go walking on the hills towards the back of the property. Even though it was quite wet and cold the weekend we visited we still had a great time. There were even gumboots available which we made great use of. I later read the guest book and found out some previous guests had left those boots there for others to use which was super nice of them and greatly improved our ability to traverse the area in such wet/muddy conditions (plus being able to cross the creek without getting wet shoes was great). The cottage itself was a nice old Queenslander. Not old in a bad way mind you, it's well maintained and decorated in a way that felt historically acurate for the time. Between the vibe of the place, and the lack of reception/internet, it felt like travelling back in time 30 years to a more simple time. At night we loved the spa bath, even though we couldn't work out how to get the jets to work. My wife actually didn't think she liked baths but after using this large comfortable one she's now a fan of a nice hot bath haha. Overall very nice place for a couples weekend away. We'd certainly come back.

A lovely, fully equipped house in a scenic location amongst working farms. Easy access to a babbling creek, which is safely behind a fence and gate to keep toddlers from wandering there should they slip away. Totally recommend for a quiet get away in the country.

Excellent Weekend Getaway
We had a great experience staying in the country cottage with all the necessities and creature comforts. No wifi or phone reception which allowed us to completely switch off and relax. We explore the local area and climbed up the mountain behind the cabin. The creek, paddock and firepit were added bonuses that enhanced the overall time spent here - highly recommend.
