About this property

Beaumont High Country Homestead - Peaceful getaway on a working cattle property

High Country Homestead (Beaumont)

Chill, Relax and Recharge in the tranquility of this gracious high country home on the edge of Lamington National Park, 90 minutes' drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The house sits on a high ledge that has been cut into the rainforest. As a result, you can take in the magnificent rainforest views from all bedrooms and look over the valleys of the Scenic Rim from the verandah.
Explore, hike, swim enjoy lots of games with friends and family at no extra cost or just relax in the quiet of the bush.
The house features two large living areas, indoor and outdoor fire places, well-appointed country kitchen, three large air conditioned bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate games room with table tennis table.

Established gardens surround the house and include a beautiful English cottage garden.. Ramble along well-marked walking tracks throughout the 70-hectare property. The trails cater to all levels of fitness. You might have a picnic on the peak if you are feeling energetic or for something more relaxing swim in our private swimming hole on Christmas Creek 7km away.

Beaumont is one of our two cattle properties. Here, we run 80 to 100 head of quiet steers that graze across three paddocks. We practice low stress cattle handling so the steers are calm and friendly and our impact on the environment is minimal.

Wildlife, especially birds, are plentiful around the house and throughout the property. You will see kangaroos, wallabies, bush turkeys and many different species of birds. You might also catch a glimpse of a dingo, possum or the little fox who visits from time to time.
Same sex couples welcome
The Scenic Rim is a known for the arts, cultural festivals and the six National Parks are within close proximity to the accomodation.

Great Escape
What a beautiful place to relax and unwind. Beautiful garden with so many beautiful plants and huge veranda set out for any time of the day to soak in the sun and magnificent view. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. We are definitely hoping to get back and enjoy the garden in a different season.

Peace, tranquility and views
We loved our stay at Beaumont Homestead!! The setting is beautiful, as are the views of the garden and beyond. Having no mobile coverage, or internet, was the perfect excuse to read, relax and nap. We had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. The wallabies and the hares made regular appearances for us. I would highly recommend spending some time here.

We are cattle farmers but we enjoy meeting our guests and sharing our way of life.

Why they chose this property

Our families were the original settlers in this area in the 1800s. We both grew up around Beaudesert - we went to school together. We have lived in different places around Queensland but we have come back to our home area to retire.
