Maybe you choose to explore that book you've been promising yourself and kick back and relax on your oceanfront lanai enjoying cocktails and Island-style pupus watching the sun set over the Forbidden Island of Ni`ihau. The possibilities are endless, the surroundings are the definition of paradise!

Emergency Procedures
We are glad to say that in our 16 years of ownership of this property, we have not experienced any damage from a Hurricane or Tsunami at this location. It is good practice, however, to have an emergency plan in place as this property is located in a Tsunami Evacuation Zone. Please see the map below which details the preferred routes and emergency locations for both Hurricane and Tsunami Warnings. In essence, Hurricane Shelter is provided at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center, one block West; and in case of Tsunami Warning, local residents drive up the close by Highway 552 towards Waimea Canyon / Koke`e Park. Most experts say that once you are at least 100 feet above sea level, you are out of Tsunami danger. This can be accomplished in approximately a five-minute drive from the house. Large house with plenty of room for 10 adults to enjoy time together as well as alone. Evenings spent relaxing on the lanai watching spectacular sunsets over the ocean waves offered the perfect way to end our sun-soaked days. We could not have found a better location for a 3 generation trip! The house was equipped with everything we needed for beach outings, cooking and generally relaxing! We lucked out with not only a lovely view of he ocean but we also saw lots of whales!Our hosts were readily available but not intrusive. We loved the beach updates of where seals and turtles could be seen!The proximity to uncrowded beaches was a definite plus and finding the coffee shop "Milk and Honey" within walking distance was a highlight that should not be missed.If we decide not to explore another island on our next trip to Hawaii, we will be returning to Hale La.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We chose the west side of the island because we knew we wanted to enjoy sunny beaches. The weather was perfect during our stay! Our stay at this VRBO in Kauai was absolutely perfect! The location was stunning—so close to the ocean that we could hear the waves and enjoy breathtaking sunsets every evening. The home itself was spacious and well-equipped, comfortably accommodating our large group with plenty of room to relax.The host was fantastic—she responded quickly to all our messages and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, even providing folding chairs and a tent for the park. The house was amazing! We had a group of eight adults, and there was still room for children if necessary. The owners were awesome and I can’t thank them enough for our stay. The Ocean View and patio was just perfect for us. We preferred a desolate side of the island, and this was great. Thank you for our stay, we will be back!

The view of the ocean from the patio was amazing so was the outdoor areas but the inside of the house not so great. Bathrooms/toilets old and dirty. Dishwasher didn’t work and all the pillows were old and dirty.

Kauai Vacation

This location is amazing. We have 7 people in our party and the accomodations were fitting for everyone. The patio faces out towards the ocean and it is an amazing view. We did have to drive about 45 mins to our excursions, but it was well worth it. The property owners are amazing and stayed easily accessible during my entire trip. 10/10 would recommend this location if you plan on making a trip to Kauai.

Why they chose this property

There are couple of things that make this property, in our opinion, better than other options. First~ 5 bedroom 5 bathroom! Everyone has their own bathroom/private areas to include TV's, Lanais, etc. Privacy to take a nap, read a book, watch your own show; or join the group on the large ocean view lanai. Second~ Our property has Central Air Conditioning! Most other properties may only AC the bedrooms. AC is exceptionally expensive here so this is a great luxury. Third~ The Tiki Bar grilling area overlooking the ocean. Great times to be had here! Fourth~ I live close by and this means a higher level of service to you; recommendations are automatic and any of life's problems that come up are handled in a snap! We hope to see you.

What makes this property unique

Our guest really enjoy the front door access to Waimea Canyon and Kokee Park. Our neighborhood also has the beginning of the longest white sand beach in Hawaii! If enjoying the Natural Beauty of Kauai is your goal, we are your solution! Waimea Town is 3 miles away for all necessary conveniences from grocery stores to fully staffed hospital.
