This beach cottage sits on an enormous 121 foot private beach. The house is set back from the beach for the ultimate in privacy. A large, elevated rockery patio on the beach includes a small refrigerator, water, a large propane fire ring, patio furniture and a huge sun umbrella. The cottage is a split level, 3 bedroom, including an attached covered deck and an included hot tub. Low-bank beach with unobstructed views of the Puget Sound shipping lanes and the Olympic Mountains.Tons of opportunity for beach walking, exploring tide pools or just kicking back.

Wonderful stay!

My wife and I spent the weekend here for our anniversary. The beach and views were amazing, the hot tub was great for being able to enjoy the outdoors even on chilly evenings. We didn’t have our kids but all the great stuff they have for kids made us wish they were with us (beach toys, basketball court, games and toys inside). We actually want to plan another trip with the whole family and stay again!

Dave and BJ are truly some of the kindest people we’ve ever met. They were warm, generous, and communicated so well throughout our stay, making us feel completely at home. We had such a wonderful time. The house is absolutely charming, the hot tub was sparkling clean, and the spacious lot gave us plenty of room for all kinds of fun. The gas fire pit kept us cozy in the evenings, and the sunsets were a showstopper every single night, each one different and absolutely breathtaking. Thank you, Dave and BJ, for helping us create such special memories!

Great Beach Vacation

This place is great! Very clean, everything you need for cooking. The hot tub is fantastic and the beach access and views can't be beat. Can't wait to stay here again!

March Maxwelton beach stay

Excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfortable, fabulous views. We especially enjoyed the owner's attention to detail. Highly recommended and we will certainly look forward to a return stay.

Great beachfront property

We’ve stayed for a week every summer for the past five years! Nice property, with everything one needs in the house. Owners are easy to get hold of and very quick to respond.

Perfect weekend getaway

My daughter and I stayed here for a girls weekend. The location was perfect! The hosts were very helpful and there were fresh flowers in a vase and homemade raspberry jam in the fridge. We walked the beach every day, warmed up in the hot tub and enjoyed beautiful sunsets by the fire pit. The home itself was very cozy and comfortable and better than we expected. We would definitely stay here again!

Charming cottage on the beach

We’ve been back every summer for five years now. The house is bright and airy, well-stocked with dishes, towels, bbq, sand toys for kids, and anything else you need. Owners are friendly and very responsive. Great place for a beach vacation!

Comfortable Beach Cottage and wonderful location

The cottage on Maxwelton Beach felt like home and the location was just steps away from the sandy beach. It was a perfect place to walk on the beach and spend time with friends. We ate dinner outside while enjoying the view of the water and a couple of beautiful sunsets. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The host was helpful and gracious. I would definitely stay here again.

Cozy Cottage!

Cozy, quiet, original Whidbey Island cottage with room and fun for all ages! Owners were super nice and helpful. We had our granddaughter with us part of the time so the toy closet was an added bonus. Long walks on the beach and huge lawn to run around on. Beautiful fire pit area, hot tub and very useful bbq. We hope to come and stay again.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

I stayed at this property with a few friends and it was the perfect setting for a weekend away! The house is clean and comfortable, and truly has all the amenities you need! We cooked at the house for all of our meals and any kitchen item we needed was stocked. The location is great and it was wonderful to have the beach access. I would gladly stay again. Thank you to our hosts for the great experience!

Girls getaway

The property was perfect. It was such a great place to walk the beach from, we really never had to leave. You could just stay at their house for your entire trip and never run out of things to do. That is if you like to watch the beach and look out over the water for whales. I highly recommend this place. The island was really amazing to get to, Langley was a really cool town, and the hosts were amazing people - so helpful. Great vacation and I hope to come back one day.

This is such a great family listing. Plenty of space for all ages with a beautiful beach setting.

We shared the house with my daughter and her husband, as well as their 18 month old, and 3 year old. Our other son and his kids came to visit, as well as our two single boys (early 30s) who came to play football and relax. We all concluded that we will be back for our 2021 Family Weekend next year!

Girls Weekend

We were in need of a long weekend get-away from the “real world” and just do nothing and this was the perfect place to do just that. The house was quaint and inviting. All the amenities were there, all we needed to bring was our personal belongings and food. The deck was perfect to sit and just stare at the beautiful mountains and water. We walked the beach, played games every night and enjoyed the hot tub. It was a bit too windy to use the gas or wood fire pit but we plan to come back when the weather a bit nicer to enjoy these. We enjoyed the entire experience here and the owners are so nice.

Amazing!

Dave and BJ were delightful and everything was perfect. My parents sold this home to them over 30 years ago. My sister and I had so much fun at this special Maxwelton beach house growing up and it meant the world to us to revisit our memories being able to stay there. Three of our adult children also remember staying there with Grandma and Poppy. It was an incredibly nostalgic weekend for us all and enjoyed it so much!

Well-appointed cottage with expansive view

The cottage was perfect for our short stay on Whidbey. It exceeded our expectations. Each bedroom had a comfortable queen bed with cozy linens and comforters. The kitchen was well stocked, even sharp knives. The bathroom was small but a nice vanity area with plenty of towels, washcloths, even “makeup” removing cloths. The views of the sound and majestic snow-covered Olympic mountains and access to beach walks were amazing. The owners Dave and BJ were so cordial and willing to accommodate. We definitely would stay again at this VRBO.

Excellent hosts and adorable cabin

One of our first times traveling to Whidbey Island and enjoying the outstanding views from the cabin. Traveling with coworkers with the intention to play through a dozen board games, the weather took a weird turn, causing much of the southern part of the island to lose power, including our cabin. The hosts demonstrated fantastic hospitality to check on us and do their best to make sure we were still able to grill and put together meals within minimal power and even brought us homemade raspberry jam (which could be sold - it's that good). They checked on our needs, set up a generator so we could continue to make coffee and play board games in the evening and went above and beyond what I would expect any host to do in those circumstances. They turned what could have been a disappointing poor weather weekend into a fun weekend of board games and ghost stories. Highly recommend!
