The House
Welcome to Ocean Parade Burleigh Heads part of an area known as “Koala Park. Is this the Gold Coasts best location? If it's natural beauty and aquatic paradise that rings your bells - then you have to agree with me. This is the Gold Coasts best location.
Quiet and tranquil except for the birds ! and situated right beside beautiful Tallebudgera Creek
Direct access from the property to pristine unspoiled Tallebudgera Creek - most certainly one of Australia's most picturesque estuaries - is only 50 metres down a public easement in a council reserve.
The ambience is idyllic. Here you can enjoy a sea change and a tree change at the same time with breathtaking ocean and estuary views surrounded by towering eucalypt trees with an abundance of birdlife and more than the occasional koala.
Walking tracks surround the property offering nature lovers stunning vistas along the creek side and the many walking tracks of Burleigh Head National Park which is covered in sub-tropical rainforest and rises majestically to 80 meters above sea level.
Watch Eagles and Osprey soar and Pelicans glide as Kookaburras laugh and the breeze rustles through the trees. Yes, it's hard to believe that you are on the glittering Gold Coast here.
The location is ideal and many attractions can be enjoyed within walking distance. It is only 15-20 minutes walk to Burleigh main street cafes, restaurants and hotels and even less to a variety of calm water and surf beaches.
However you could choose to walk the scenic way either around the headland or energetically up and over it enjoying the incredible views from the lookout on the way. Or you could drive in a couple of minutes.
The house is a classic and you will be impressed by the attention to detail. It is perfectly maintained and an authentic example of 70s style.
It sits in an elevated position and boasts the perfect north east aspect that captures the views and the cooling sea breezes in summer and the warm winter sunshine in the cooler months.
The open pan living area is expansive and enjoys breathtaking views from every aspect.
The wrap around balconies are perfect for the Queensland lifestyle and the views through the towering gum trees and over the estuary to the Coral Sea and Coolangatta beyond are truly inspiring.
The home has 3 comfortable bedrooms that enjoy leafy outlooks and cooling breezes. After an energetic day lull yourself to sleep to the sound of the surf resonating up the creek and wake to the sound of birds as the sun rises over the Pacific in the eastern vista from your balcony. A new day begins and you will probably find that you will quite happily stay right here.
Beautiful Burleigh
Burleigh's most famous feature is of course one of the world's best surf breaks. A Burleigh barrel cascading and feathering its way along Burleigh Point is many a surfers dream. Whether you wish to ride the barrel or just spectate from natures grandstand on the headland you will be impressed.
Burleigh is a centre for surf culture and the birthplace of professional surfing as we know it with the original man on man Stubbies surf comps of the 70's.
This area is best enjoyed from the water. Explore the mangroves and the foreshore by Sea Kayak in your own front yard. The scenery is pristine and untouched. Bird and marine life are plentiful.
Easily paddle up to the creek mouth for a swim at the amazing Echo Beach on the northern side of the creek or under the watchful eyes on the patrolled beach on the southern side of the creek. Kayak hire can be arranged.
Stand up paddlers love it here. The latest craze to hit our beaches is right at home here. The still water of the creek is bliss for beginners and the creek mouth provides the perfect beginner waves for those ready to take on the sea.
Bicycle paths abound on the Gold Coast and this central location will give you easy access to the full length of the Gold Coast strip.
So if it is the natural beauty of the Gold Coast that you wish to enjoy during your time here , well this is the best place for it. A quiet tranquil and incredibly beautiful location set amidst all the natural wonders of South East Queensland.

Great location in the trees overlooking Talli Creek. Peter is a great host and very accomodating. Place is a bit old and in need of a few repair’s.

It is an old house ... but a good one !.... and it is continually upgraded... new kitchen and ensuite bathroom done ... it has been so busy last couple of years and some ... more improvements and repairs soon... so hard to get tradies!
We had the privilege of staying at the 70’s house for two months & it truly felt like home. It was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook, entertain and bbq. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into making this place epic. We already miss the view and wildlife, as well as hosts Pete and Jen, who are absolute legends. We cannot wait to visit the 70’s house again!
Set amongst the gumtrees.
Superb water views and a stillness like no other.
Considered thought has gone into every aspect to ensure the 'original' ambience has been kept.
Bed and bedding luxurious, and the property - incredibly clean.
You cannot believe bustling Burleigh main street is only a stroll away.
What a gem!
Spacious place with quirky decor, modern kitchen and luxury ensuite. Fabulous views of the creek. Bushy surrounds bursting with birds and relaxing walks.
Peter was a great host and responded to any questions we had promptly. Large house with views down to the creek and the ocean. As mentioned in the description of the house there is a very steep driveway. Short walk to the creek where you can kayak etc. We had an enjoyable stay.
Retro, clean and comfortable - water views through canopy wonderful for weather watching. My husband and I stayed across heatwave through to gale-force winds and rains and this place just offered up magic for all weather conditions. Near enough to busy Burleigh but set back in a tranquil peaceful residential area overlooking Talle estuary. Thanks Pete and Jenny
Beautiful home amount the gum trees. The house is really charming and very well equipped for a comfortable stay. However, the absolute highlight of the property is the wonderful wrap around balcony where you can enjoy a lovely breeze and glimpse the water through a stunning canopy of trees.
The house and Peter’s hospitality was great. We had a fantastic family holiday at the house. Easy walk down to Tallebudgera Creek and beautiful breezes on the deck.
We stayed with our family for a week. We were very comfortable. The house is so cozy and eclectic. Love the 70s decor ... record/cassette player, wall paper, orange couches, 70s art, it’s like going back in time. We really enjoyed the wrap around balcony and many cockatoos and parrots visited the bird feeder. The fans in the bedrooms are fantastic- kept us nice and cool on hot days. We had lovely walks down the hill to the hidden perk coffee shop in the mornings and easily visited all the beaches (Tallebudgera creek, north Burleigh beaches, Burleigh heads, Currumbin, coollongatta) . The kitchen is well stocked and the stove/oven is great for a lot of meals cooked at home. Peter always got back to me within seconds, we will hopefully be back!
Place was great for our stay of two nights. Loved the 70’s theme!!
Straight forward and easy - Peter responded almost instantly to our questions

We had a fantastic stay at peter’s Burleigh house. We loved the location and would love visit again
We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the house. It was perfect for our little family. The bush setting was made even better by having views across the Tallebudgera creek to the ocean and the deck is a perfect place to catch up in the afternoon and enjoy the cool breeze and the native wildlife. Having the bush walks close by was a really great way to explore the area and having fleays wildlife park so close was a big bonus as we were able to walk there easily with the kids.
Thanks to peter for being a great host, communication from him was top notch.

As described, an older house with a view.
We had a very pleasant week. The creek view filtered through the trees was lovely, the birdlife was entertaining, walks to Burleigh and along the creek were interesting, and we saw at least one koala each time we walked through Burleigh Ridge park which was exciting. One walk we saw four!
The house was very comfortable and had character. We liked it a lot.

Tranquility
Greeting us on arrival was a koala with baby in the tree at the front of the house and king parrots on the balcony seed feeder. The next morning we saw a kingfisher in the mangroves at the base of the hill. Our dog enjoyed the walk too. There is a great paved walk and boardwalk along the river nearby and a short drive to Burleigh Heads village where there is a great walk on the hilly national park followed by a walk along the popular promenade and beach. What a great place to be. The house is light and airy with a nice view to the nature at front. The driveway is steep and is a location where you need a car, but our dog was very relaxed being there and was a big positive for us. The decor is 70s with a surfing theme true to Burleigh Heads, but it is functional and matched our needs perfectly. We would stay there again if we came on another road trip.

Nostalgia
Enjoyed our stay at Burleigh bliss as the house bought back a lot of memories and was great for Nula our dog. However I would of liked the house to of been a lot cleaner and to provide a working oven and toaster...my husband and I love cooking and found the kitchen very limited.
The day we arrived was extremely hot and the house was completely closed up so our first impression was bad as there was absolutely no breeze and also no aircon!!! The rest of our stay we had beautiful sea breezes so tha need for an aircon left our minds.. but still do think the house could benefit from at least one in the lounge room as the house has a flat roof and no insulation. The lawn was also long and wasn't done until 5days into our stay but didn't matter cause we couldn't use the BBQ as it was rusty and should be on the balcony anyway.
Overall we thought the house could of been a little cheaper but could be improved with a little more attention to detail ie provide a mop and dish washing liquid!!!
The house is situated near mangroves so at dusk you do get midges so a bug zapper would be a huge plus.
Loved the house and would recommend if a little more attention was paid.

Guaranteed clean ... if it's not call me .. I will send cleaners back around a s a p . Please read other reviews and this one closely .. did they enjoy it or not? Sounds to me like they did ! oh well ... I love it there because it does not need air con as its on a hillside overlooking the sea with loads of cross ventilation and it does have insulation ... nice healthy sea air... yes it is right near Tallebudgera Creek which does have mangroves ... it is sensational... there are no more bities than any other burleigh homes.... the gardener comes regular .. grows fast in summer... BBQ is beaut just add oil.. It is located outdoors in the garden under a gazebo ... re the toaster it works if not I get a a new one pronto.. re the oven .. there is an interim replacement it works a treat ... a whole new kitchen is not far off .. current one is well equipped.. once again we love it there and so will you! PS we do allow dogs but do expect to advised of such and conditions do apply. We were not informed about "Nula"

Fabulous stay at Burleigh Bliss
My family had a wonderful weekend at this property. It has a lot of character and is very central. We walked to the beach and shops quite a few times. Owner was extremely accommodating and made booking and checking in a breeze. Would recommend.

Loved our week in The Bliss House. Spacious living areas with fabulous views. Big windows and balconies meant we could enjoy the environment 24/7. The walks between the house and Burleigh were beautiful. Thanks Peter for the helpful directions.

Like living in the tree tops
We really enjoyed our stay at the 70's house. So close to everything yet quiet and peaceful with comfy beds and plenty of room to spread out and relax. Lots of great walks nearby but very easy to just sit out on the balcony enjoying the serenity and the views.

Stayed for a weekend with husband, two boys and dog and had a great time. The house is a breath of fresh air from the modern and sterile apartments that are normally on offer. Lots of space to stretch out, comfy sofas and a balcony with a wonderful view over the water. We loved the record player and the 70s styling. A happy time had by all.
About the host
Hosted by Peter Jackson
We love absolutely everything about this beautiful area and this classic home. We are passionate about it and assure you that this is the real Gold Coast lifestyle. The one that this booming city was built upon. We have spent our entire lives seldom leaving this wonderful town. We have watched it grow from a city of about 50000 to over half a million.... and in our little pocket .. not much has changed at all...
Why they chose this property
Come and see for yourself .... The birds are unbelievable and we are forever looking forward to the regular visits from the koalas. Pick ten different incredible walks through nature along the creek or through the national park or along the ridge or around the headland ... or travel by kayak .. our fave! Everyone who lives around here is just pinching themselves!
What makes this property unique
Experience a great old home .. no air conditioning .. ha ha yeah .. the house has big wide eaves .. its warm in winter from the northern sunshine.. it's cool in summer with the prevalent sea breezes filtering through the gum trees .. It doesn't need air con - life's better without it .... But we put some in in 2025 …a 6kw mitsubishi … you will not need it … but it is there now for the doubters ! …..really this is one of the best hillsides on the entire planet. Experience it and you will agree...
