Lack of helpfulness due to lack of parking. Only 1 spot which seems ridiculous for the capacity size. Shower was cold and never hit. Beds very uncomfortable. Bedding was old and smelly. Shower was outdated. Temperature was either very hot in certain rooms or not working in others.

Over advertised, under delivered
This location is not STEPS FROM THE SKI LIFT as advertised. Nor is it walking distance to the ski resort if you are carrying all your ski gear. It is a half-mile, uphill walk.
The heating system for the property is inefficient. The HVAC blasts hot air into the upstairs bedrooms, but the downstairs vents get hardly any air. That makes the bedroom 75 degrees when the downs stairs barely makes 68 degrees. The kitchen has no heating vent so it is alas closed.
The advertised hot tub would not heat past 80 degrees. Maintenance came out and 'fixed' it, but after15 minutes, it stopped heating again. We could not use the hot tub at all.
There was only ONE kitchen towel.
There is no TV in the master bedroom.
Location is good for driving to shops and dining, but way overpriced for quality of amenities.

Noisy
While this cabin had an ok location close to the base of Snow Summit, because of that, the sleeping part of our stay was noisy with traffic. The snow plows and cars began around 4:00am. The windows were thin and noise level was loud. Parking was also taken up by mountain visitors who didn’t honor the tenant parking. The TV was smart TV only, so we were unable to watch any football bowl games and there wasn’t an option to add an app to access our own direct tv or other options. Netflix was our only option. The bunk bed mattress was so extremely uncomfortable that my teenage boy, who can sleep anywhere, had a hard time sleeping and eventually moved to the couch. The second night he used the roll away mattress. Also, property management would not let us stay parked in one of our two supposedly available parking spaces until we left the mountain at 2:00 on our
check out day, although check-in for the next guest wasn’t until 4:00. On the positive side, check in was easy and the jacuzzi and fireplace were nice to have. it was an easy walk to 7-11 for grocery items and to a rental shop for needed helmets. communication with property management was easy through texting. We will choose a different location next time.

We are sorry that you had an unpleasant experience near the ski resorts. They do start their operations early. With the heavy traffic that we get during this time people do not always abide by the rules and park anywhere. We are sorry to hear that someone parked in your parking space. We do our best to resolve these issues and have the other vehicle removed but companies are always backed up due to the same issue. The reasoning for our companies policy of not allowing you to leave your vehicle parked at the property past 11 am is so that if the cabin is clean before 4 pm the guest has the option to pay an additional fee to check in earlier. We are glad to hear that apart from the challenges that you faced, you were able to have a great stay and were close to everything.
Thank you so much for leaving us a review. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. We look forward to working with you again in the future!
Big Bear Cool Cabins
We rented this unit for two nights while skiing at Snow Summit. The unit was clean and right down the street from the mountain. You could walk 0.4 miles uphill or take shuttle stop 2 that was pretty much across the street. The shuttle is hit or miss depending on how busy it is. Overall, the property was a great place to stay. The unit was clean and had renovated kitchen and bathrooms. There was a nice TV and good wifi, but no cable or local TV service. Make sure you have a device and HDMI cable to connect to the TV if you want to watch anything or you can log into Netflix and a couple other services on the smart TV. It was the NFL playoffs when we stayed so if I didn't remember to bring my HDMI cable, then we would have needed to go somewhere over a very busy weekend to watch the games.
Other notes - we didn't use the hot tub because it was right outside the window of both neighbors. The place is also just for rentals. There isn't a whole lot of furniture, mainly in the bedrooms. It would have been nice to have a dresser or a table to be able to put a few things on. The bedrooms only had the beds and very small night stands.

Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us. See you next time you’re in Big Bear.
Down the street from Snow summit, 5 minute drive to Bear Mountain, walking distance to 7-11, and easy parking in front of cabin. Pretty modern and up to date cabin, everything was great would definitely rent again.
