The neighbourhood
The house is situated on the Bucklands Beach peninsula with three beaches nearby, the closest being only a one-minute walk away. Our local neighbourhood has a fantastic atmosphere and a real connection to the sea; many of New Zealand’s America’s Cup yachtsmen learned to sail in the waters that surround us.
Three restaurants, a fish and chip/Chinese takeaway shop, a convenience store and a café are within 5 minutes’ walk. Additional restaurants, shops and a supermarket are 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive away at the Half Moon Bay Marina.
The quaint historic Howick Village is a short 10 minute drive away and offers a plethora of café, dining and pub experiences with a very popular Saturday market and a boutique Cinema.
Getting around
Ferries run from nearby Half Moon Bay Marina to the Auckland city centre and Waiheke Island. A bus stop is only a couple of minutes’ walk from the house.
The airport is approximately 30 minutes drive away and Auckland city centre can be reached in 30 minutes by ferry.
