All the advantages of the resort
We were delighted with the villa accommodation and all the resort offerings - three pools and a spa, complimentary beach towels, tennis (bring some balls!), walking trails, canoes, restaurants, and activities which we could ”charge to our room”. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to shop for groceries before arriving at the island which meant we sampled must of the menus - not a problem for the adults but Miss 8 got a little tired with her limited kids options. She was really impressed with the Junior Rangers/school holiday program offering but dissapointed when the campfire was cancelled due to the total fire ban. The fun movie night made up for it.
If you’re not up for a whole day’s four-wheel-driving experience, a taxi can be booked in advance to take a group to and from selected locations- might be more cost effective but we left it too late to secure a booking.
The villa was spotless and perfectly suited for a family of 3-5, with Foxtel appreciated (by some) for a limited wind-down after a full day of fun. A lovely family holiday with just the right mix of activities and relaxation.
Very comfortable stay for 4 adults and one child,
Few things missing from the kitchen, couple of wooden spoons; a pair scissors; and a few more Tupperware like containers plus a pair of oven gloves.
But my main concern was when I used the Large double handled saucepan with the lid; the whole saucepan and handles became extremely hot to handle. This nearly caused me to burn myself when I removed the lid and tried to lift the saucepan off the stove. Overall we had a great 4 night stay.
Thanks Dylis for bringing to our attention the issue with the saucepan and we will purchase oven mits. I am glad your overall stay was great.
Great beach villa. Had everything we needed. Using the resort facilities was a bonus. Wld recommend
Fraser Island is an absolutely Beautiful experience. Not many places u can 4wd up the beach.
Remember to check out ur low tides for this. Plenty of great gutters along the beach for fishing, just need to be mindful of your fish cleaning etc as the dingoes are scavengers and can smell them a mile away literally. We were eating lunch in the 4wd and along came the dingoes. There about 300 left on the Island and about 11 of these are extremely cheeky. So DO NOT leave your children's side Humans have been feeding them over the years and this has caused bad habits in some of them. They are beautiful creatures. Go to Indian head it is a must see alongside Mckenzie and wabby lakes. Lake Mckenzie... u can get a wheelchair down to this lake, it would be a bit of extra effort to get back up. I personally found lake birabeen the pic as it wasn't crowded...we had it all to ourselves.but it isn't wheelchair friendly. (All freshwater lakes these are) Central station is a great spot in the thick of rainforest with its freshwater creek . The boardwalk is wheelchair friendly then it turns into a track. Eurong has a pub. Open Sundays . Happy valley has a shop for essentials like petrol and a cuppa. Mobile reception is limited on Fraser.
Maheno wreck on the beach is a photo stop. As with champagne pools at Waddy point. And it doesn't matter what time you get here... it is always busy. As with Eli Creek. Anyway, do not forget to check times for low tide, otherwise it is a soft sand drive its long & slow. Give urself an hour to travel from surf side back to this villa at Kingfisher. Kingfisher has two pools . Tennis. Club for kids to do small forest walks looking for animals like possum etc. eating at Kingfisher .2 options exspensive dinning or the sand bar. Big flathead fish to be caught off the jetty.. bring ur line. Aero guard too , to keep the bugs off u. If u don't have a 4wd. I Wld recommend fly in from Hervey Bay , Land on the beach to an awaiting 4wd bus tour. They go all over at anytime.
Otherwise rent a 4wd from 4wd hire in Hervey Bay. $1200 approx for 4 days with all ur compulsory permits and barge ferry fares all inclusive. Crazy crazy bush/sand tracks to drive on. a great experience. This was my 100th trip over to the island but my first villa stay as Ive always camped in a tent. Take a big esky full of all ur food and drinks. Enjoy the resort and island. Keep ur money for souvenirs and cocktail hours at Kingfisher bar. Try the maheno cocktail wow
Good accommodation - book here instead of through the resort to save money!
Good accommodation - book here instead of through the resort to save money! Unit is part of the complex and you have use of all the facilities. Thanks to the owner for being really helpful.
Lovely get away property
Well appointed villa. Did have a couple of issues but these were remedied quickly a
Really close to resort facilities, which is so handy with children. Friendly owner and staff. Beautiful sunsets at the pier and the kids loved the resort pools. The villa has everything needed for a comfortable holiday away from home. Thankyou!
