About this property

Family fun Grotto waterfall Bethel Oasis

Our single family home is exactly what you need to relax and rest after your days of fun in Virginia. Our home was built in 2019. In 2023, a Grotto waterfall feature with surrounding 3-foot pond was added in the backyard. There are two master bedrooms with walk-in showers on each floor. The 1st floor master bedroom has two queen size beds. The 1st floor master closet was converted into a simple nursery with a crib, baby swing, and some children's toys and books. It is like a special children's room for a family who traveling with small children. The 2nd floor master bedroom has a king size bed for the parents and a twin sized bed for a young child. We also have an outdoor playground set up for kids age 5 and up. We know we are on a very busy street. So, we built our playground far away in the back. Spacious kitchen and breakfast bar together allow to host larger groups. We welcome families traveling with kids. A group of 12 will be a very comfortable fit for this rental.
Note-Our house is built on a main street. No street parking available. Only 4 cars can be parked in the driveway and 1 or 2 medium sized or smaller cars in the garage.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Run the first load of sheets in hot water. Don’t overload the machine. Leave the rest in the laundry room.
Take out trash to the trash cans, recyclables to recycle cans outside. If your stay including Sunday, please put out cans to the street.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No drugs. No smoking. No pets. Don’t leave trash around the house. Throw trash in provided garbage cans.
Run all dirty dishes including coffee pot if it is used. Move used linen and towels to laundry room. Wash as much laundry if possible.
An extra cleaning fee of $125 charged to guests who leave house exceptionally messy, such as not washing dishes or first load of laundry.

Very clean house

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. There were some discrepancies when we checked out but I communicated with the owner to explain what happened and the issue was resolved.

Spacious and clean

This home was perfect for our group that was visiting for a friend’s retirement. There was only six of us, and this property gave us the ability to comfortably stay without feeling cramped in any way. A great alternative to staying in a hotel that wouldn’t have provided community space, patio/grotto, kitchen, laundry, garage, etc. and would have cost each of us about the same, or more, than splitting the cost of this clean and spacious location. None of us were familiar with the area but the property seemed centrally located to several things to include shopping, food, and Langley AFB. This property will be at the top of our list of places to stay if we gather here again. Our local friend has earmarked this property for any future family that comes to visit.

Family fun weekend Hampton Roads

The property is as described. Cute and clean, we enjoyed our stay. Most importantly, the beds were comfortable which is a big deal when they are not. Would recommend this place for families.

Good option for multiple couples/families for CNU celebration

This was the most expensive VRBO we have ever stayed in, so we had pretty high expectations. The properties was as described and we had a lovely time with family!

Graduation Weekend

This was the perfect property to celebrate my daughter's graduation from Hampton University. We had lots of family and friends stay with us and at local hotels. We used this VRBO as our base of operations with fun, food and laughter every day. The water feature in the backyard turned into the perfect photo op and the small patio we used for line dancing and hanging out. The Weber grill provided was definitely used too. The kitchen was overstocked with plates, mugs and glasses but I ended up having to buy a skillet and some storage containers. No skillet? That was weird but a lot of properties don't provide great cooking utensils and pots because they fear renters will take them. But that being the case you shouldn't say the kitchen is fully stocked. Same for the free breakfast. It was cereal but who knows how long it was there and who touched it? We ate what we brought. There were a few spices we added to. The listing also said workout space but I don't know what that could have been. Overall, it was a WONDERFUL weekend and perfect for what we were celebrating. The kitchen, dining area and living space flowed beautifully throughout the weekend.I cannot say enough about the owner and his responsiveness. This was a memorable occasion, marked by this beautiful property.

Beautiful and Great for families!

This place matches exactly the pictures you see. Spacious and decorated nicely. The kid toys and play set came in handy for a visiting niece. Was perfect for our wedding prep and visiting with family and friends. Little sketchy trying to get out of driveway is the only thing to watch out for, but parking is also across the street in little strip mall.

This is a beautiful home and is so very well equipped! The kitchen has everything you can possibly need. It was also extremely easy to clean up upon leaving. While I didn't have smal children there, the nursery room had everything a young family would need.

Excellent Vacation

The property was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The hose, David was very responsive to our messages and even came out late on our first night to fix a toilet problem. I would recommend this property to others for sure. The only negative was the busy highway and traffic.

Short Vacation Get a Way

We had an over all.good experience with our stay. The house was spacious, clean and had most accommodations we needed. The contact free check in was nice. The only suggestion I would make is to have necessities like garbage bags, and possibly some cleaning spray. There were only two extra bags, so had we stayed for a week. That would not of been enough. It is on busy street. But we didn't mind as we were only primarily around the house to sleep and shower. I would definitely consider renting again if we decided on another family vacation.

The house is gorgeous. Communication was great. The location of the property is a little strange (busy road right in front of the house) and not ideal for a family with young kids. But overall we had a really nice relaxing stay.

Birthday Getaway

My sons now 4&6 both celebrated a birthday and have been suffering from cabin fever, this was the perfect getaway. The owner ALWAYS responded within 2 minutes. I saw some reviews about the busy street but I found it a non issue. The playground is far enough away from the street. The house is supplied with everything you need and looks as listed. If you’re a big cook like me you’ll need to bring extra pots and pans. I felt at home. I felt it was great that they also had Netflix and the Disney app as we traveled with 5 kids. That was really helpful.

Mens Get-a-way

My two teenage sons and I recently enjoyed a 4x day “Mancation” at Big Bethel; we had a great rental experience and we are grateful to have found the property. The unit is perfect for those considering a family get-a-way or a vacation with other couples. The House: Very spacious, tastefully decorated and well-appointed w/essentials, modern conveniences and some helpful amenities. The Hostess: Outstanding communication from beginning to end. Xiang typically responded to e-mails within a matter of hours if not minutes; exchanges were clear, thorough and personable. The Location: 5-10 minutes from just about any day-to-day needs, ~15 minutes from Buckroe Beach and an easy ~40 minute drive to the VA Beach Oceanfront area. Home does sit next to a relatively busy road; a consideration for those who might have wee ones. We thoroughly enjoyed the home and look forward to a return visit with the rest of the family. Thanks for a great stay Xiang.
