Hidden Jewel with Ocean Views

This cottage is a much loved welcoming renovated, architect-designed 60s family beach house. It features:
- panoramic north-facing ocean views
- relaxed, light-filled, inviting atmosphere
- original jarrah floors
- three bedrooms - sleeps 6 comfortably
- one queen room, two twin single rooms
- two of the bedrooms open to the north-facing balcony

- a few minutes walk from the beach.

Longer term rentals are also available. This is the perfect place to write, reflect, paint or retreat... or just enjoy the view!

Pets will be considered, upon application.



About Black Head

Black Head Beach is a beautiful, yet little-known, part of Australiaโ€™s eastern coastline, only 3+ hrs drive north of Sydney. A perfect weekend getaway or a longer holiday break, just off the Pacific Highway between Forster and Taree.

Black Head Beach is a safe swimming beach, patrolled by surf lifesavers in summer, and features a wonderful ocean lap pool.

Nearby is Nine Mile Beach, also known as Back Beach, which is undeveloped and expansive, and features amazingly beautiful forest and beach walks .

Black Head Beach/Hallidayโ€™s Point features a well-stocked supermarket which sells fruit and vegetables, a butcher with fresh local fish and fresh eggs, and bottle shops.

1. The kitchen is well equipped and there are basic food items in sealed containers.
2. All linen is supplied and beds are made up for you.

This cottage is indeed a jewel, very well-appointed, comfortable and breezy with outstanding views. Our host made sure everything was in order for us and made contact with us early in our stay to check that all was going well. We loved our week there.

The property is so sweet and the views are sublime. It was so lovely to sit in bed, with a cup of tea, overlooking beautiful Blackhead beach. Our dog was also very happy to run around on the beach. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing beach getaway

Great little beach cottage that was perfect for our one week stay for our family of five (2 adults, 3 children). Cottage was clean, well presented and had everything we needed in the kitchen and washing machine. We loved it so much we have booked again. Highly recommend ๐Ÿ™‚

Apart from a couple of years during covid we've stayed in this lovely, perfectly located little cottage every year for ten years now. We love it that much. You can see the ocean, you can hear the ocean, you can walk to the shops, it has everything. Already looking forward to next year.

Black Head is gorgeous. We really loved the location and the ocean views were amazing with plenty of whale sightings. Also being able to hear the ocean from the property was lovely. The property is a very well maintained, charming neat and tidy original beach cottage. The bird life was great, with a rare regent bower bird in the garden. It was great to be able to take our dog with us. Absolutely no complaints, would love to stay there again.

Perfect Getaway

This is my family's 4th stay in this perfect seaside cottage. It has all you need for a relaxing beach holiday. It is s a 3 min walk to Black Head Beach, which you can see from muliple rooms. We love sitting on the sunny balcony listening to the ocean.

Peaceful house near beach

Lovely house very close to beautiful peaceful dog friendly beach. No wifi and not much to do in Black Head but Forster only 25 minutes away for more action. A restful holiday.

Good to hear your time at the cottage was so restful Christine. And yes, you are right. Black Head is quiet. That's part of it's attraction! Perfect place to relax, walk, swim, read, etc. We're considering wifi but interestingly a number of guests say they welcome not being tempted by it. Hotspotting works fine for the moment.
