About this property

Avalon River Retreat - an unforgettable immersion in a pristine oasis

Avalon River Retreat is a world away from care. This is an experience that will live on in your heart long after you are gone.

BOOK FOR TWO NIGHTS, STAY FOR 3 (3rd night free!)

Avalon is a place to rest and restore body, mind and soul. For singles seeking space, couples looking for a place to love and be, or families wanting to share the wonders of the natural world with their children. Avalon will reconnect you to the land, the circle and cycles of life, the miracle of Mother Nature and recalibrate your place in the infinitessimal scheme of things.

Escape from the rat race! Get right away from the pressures and stress of modern life. Nurture yourself with Nature. Breathe in the clean country air, amaze yourself with the enormity of the heavens as you stargaze at night. Sit and fish or just wait for the platypus. Walk in the bush and look for koalas. Listen to the burble of the ever flowing river. Swim in pristine waters, kayak the 4 kilometres of river (weather permitting), marvel at the wildlife & the peace. Cuddle the animals or just view from a distance - the choice is yours.

Your accommodation is a one bedroom luxurious cedar cottage with glorious timber floors, world's comfiest sofa, wood fire and luxury linen.

The cottage overlooks the main river flat where many of the animals wander freely. Perched on a hillside, The Tree House has panoramic views of The Milky Way and beyond - leave the curtains open and drift off to sleep under star spangled skies.

This is a healing place. You will return refreshed to your world from our beautiful riverside oasis. The Tree House is made of wood, filled with timber furniture both antique and new - it will soothe your tired mind and feed your weary soul.

Come back to your heart, reconnect with your soul, ground yourself in this beautiful place and return, refreshed, to your reality.

- Use of Kayaks for both Adults and Children
- Use of fishing rods if you do not have your own
- Opportunity to feed all the animals, collect eggs etc

400 acres and 4 kilometres of river frontage.

Avalon comprises 400 acres of rolling pasture, pristine rainforest and pasture. Adjoining State Forest means that our nearest neighbour is 4 kilometres away - feel your soul soar at the space and freedom. Our Platypus population is extraordinary and testament to the crystal clear waters - approximately one Platypus every 50 metres. Take the time to sit patiently and wait for the platypus to pop up. Koalas are rarer and more tricky to spot - but they are there so keep looking up! Plenty of goannas, wallabies, water dragons, Bass, turtles, frogs, parrots of all shapes and sizes, wedge tailed and sea eagles, so bring a camera and binoculars if you have them.

Admire the native species and get up close and personal with the free range happy herds of farm animals. Hand feed the alpacas, cuddle the cows, get to know the horses, scratch a sow, feed the ducks and chooks and fill up on their delicious eggs.

Healing Sanctuary
What a magical site! The tree house was everything that my partner and I wished for plus more! It was so cosy and the view was just spectacular! We got acquainted with the animals on the farm and Sophie took us out to see platypus in the wild! Such an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommended it.
