CAFE'S - FOOD SCENE - COFFEE LOVERS
The Lake House is surrounded by a range of quaint cafés and other eating options.
The "Fox & Giraffe" café is about a one-minute walk up the street. It has a genuine corner shop feel, good coffee, light meals, takeaway and indoor or outdoor seating under the shade of elm trees. They open around 6am if you need to grab an early coffee and a tasty bite to eat. The 'Tyson Reef Hotel' is opposite this cafe, serving nice counter meals.
At Lake Weeroona you can treat yourself to a breakfast at the 'Boardwalk Café' right on the water's edge. A walk around this popular lake is a great way to connect with locals.
The Bridge Street Hotel is a 5-minute walk from the lakehouse, offering alfresco dining under elm trees, right at the doorstep of the city centre, where you can explore local museums, restaurants, the arts precinct, and the landscaped gardens of Rosalind Park.
TALKING TOURIST TRAMS
Bendigo's iconic talking tourist trams roll past the front of the Lake House (see photo) as they travel along Bridge Street, around part of the lake and into the city centre. Each tram has a unique design and colour.
PARKING
All parking configurations are covered. Guests can park in either the front driveway, the side driveway or anywhere along Nolan Street bordering the property, with no parking limits and the capacity to accommodate long vehicles such as 4WDs towing a caravan.
TODDLERS
Toddlers under 2 years of age can stay free if they sleep in the port-o-cot provided on the property, your own port-o-cot, or in a paid guest bed. Please ensure you advise the owner of any toddlers in the booking details.
HOSPITAL (round the corner - 4 minute walk)
The Bendigo Hospital is located just around the corner in Bendigo's medical precinct. The Lake House is ideally positioned for anyone looking after or visiting friends and family undergoing medical treatment.
CYCLING
The paths around Lake Weeroona form part of the excellent network of regional cycling tracks that wind throughout the town and extend into the surrounding countryside.
