We have stayed in this charming little cottage on several occasions and, as always, everything was perfect. Close to everything, walkable to the arts precinct and the CBD, comfortable amenities and wonderful hosts. We look forward to returning !
Lovely cottage with a beautiful backyard and outdoor garden to enjoy. We stayed there for 3 nights and had the most wonderful sleep on very comfortable beds. My elderly parents were impressed with the warm welcome of breakfast provisions, fresh flowers and the delicious muffins. We highly recommend this beautiful cottage if you’re visiting Bendigo.
We had a wonderful stay. The place had everything we needed and was so close to the gallery and restaurants. I loved the egg chair. We would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay. Hosts were great and even got me some gluten free bread for breakfast which was much appreciated. I loved that we could walk to most places as the cottage is so close to town. Would definitely stay again.
This is the second time we have been here in 10 years and the standard has never been less than superb. Comfort plus and the the small things - fresh fruit and cupboard full of staples, make this property the “go to” site in Bendigo for those seeking old world charm, comfort, location and hospitality.
Great cottage for all our needs ,during our stay.
Nice and warm on these chilly Bendigo mornings.
Great location and everything supplied for a very comfortable stay.
A lovely stay in a lovely little cottage with all the amenities you could need. A generous continental breakfast was provided and the beautiful home was very close to the town centre and art district.
Our hosts were great, easily accessible. Rowan Cottage was just lovely and all the little things really made it special. Could not have asked for more. Sue & Terry
As we continue to explore Bendigo with Rowan Cottage as our base we keep on finding new reasons to keep coming back, this is visit number 3 at Rowan Cottage and many more to come. Thank you Julie and Gary, for our Bendigo home.
House was great, had everything we needed to enjoy our 2 nights stay.
Close to the Cathedral (well worth a visit) and close to the Rifle Brigade pub where we ate dinner one evening.
Very good communication with the owner.
A fabulously decked out property with everything you need and more. Centrally located and quiet. Walking distance to the Arts Precinct and great restaurants and cafes. Owners a delight to deal with and present their home beautifully.
You could not ask for better hosts.Their hospitality and generosity was outstanding and made our stay a joy.
The sense of history with the high level of comfort means that we can't recommend this place highly enough.
So lovely to return to this warm, cosy little cottage, just a stone's throw away from the arts precinct and centre of Bendigo. Beautiful gardens, comfortable, all the conveniences you could want, and the hosts Julie and Gary are really welcoming and accessible. Highly recommend !
Whilst we were in Bendigo for a short time, it was a lovely little cottage to arrive at and stay for our trip. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. If staying for longer periods and wanting self contained it is the place to stay. Close to the Deborah Gold Mine, shops near by and easy to park the car up and walk every where if you want to.
We came back to Rowan Cottage as it has a great central location in a quiet street, you can easily walk to town avoiding the hills, and it has a relaxed feel to it.
Thanks

We go to Bendigo every year for the Bendigo Chamber Music Festival and one of the best things about it is "our" little Rowan Cottage. It's so comfortable, has a delightful garden at the back, and there are always goodies on our arrival (e.g. a cake and/or a bowl of fresh strawberries). The hosts, Julie and Gary, are very friendly and communication is easy. Highly recommend !
Julie and Garry were wonderful hosts and we arrived late to find a warm, lit comfortable house with little touches like a cake and breakfast.
They were fabulous communicators. The house had all we needed and is in a great and quiet location. Beds are super comfy and there is a lovely courtyard to soak up some sun.
We will be back.
My friend and I recently spent two nights at this property and were very happy with our stay. The cottage was beautifully warm and clean and a lovely continental breakfast was supplied as well as some additional treats and full use of a well stocked pantry. I had some interaction with the host and found her to be very considerate and understanding. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Julie and Gary were always very responsive, nothing was a problem, the cottage had central heating and cooling, 2 bathrooms and lovely cosy bedrooms and sitting areas, both inside and outside. The thoughtful touches were an extra special bonus, light breakfast supplied and some cakes upon our arrival We felt so at home here.Easy walk to town centre, Gallery, places of interest, cafes and restaurants. The only time we used the car was to take a drive to Castlemaine.Thankyou we loved it
My daughter had an athletics competition in Bendigo and it was really great to stay in a property that felt like home. The house was lovely and gardens were immaculate. The little touches inside were thoughtful and appreciated. We enjoyed sitting outside under the covered entertaining area. I would highly recommend this property to others.
This cottage in Bendigo exudes charm and elegance with its beautifully appointed interior. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a cozy atmosphere and tasteful decor. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the carefully chosen furnishings to the thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home, including a delicious cake and breakfast hamper. The location adds to the allure, with plenty of attractions and activities nearby to explore. We had such a relaxing weekend and would happily to here again.
