Dalwood Country House is set on 50 acres and is an impressive interpretation of modern Australian colonial architecture - this sprawling country homestead has everything for the perfect stay in the Hunter Valley.

Dalwood Country Retreat has a real abundance of space inside and out. It has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Two bedrooms are king rooms (or 4 single beds) with en-suites and a further four queen bedrooms. There is a connecting room from bedroom 3 and 4 that has two double sofa beds which is perfect for children or a spill over for larger groups. This stunning property has a large kitchen and two separate inside dining areas, a fantastic modern open-plan living space with island fire. French doors, open to outdoor decks and entertainment areas with a wood-fire pizza oven and large BBQ. A feature of this fabulous property is the substantial lounge area to the rear of the house with a pool table and a second plasma TV (both TV's have Austar only, no free to air channels are available). The home is perfect for a stay all year round with a roaring island-fireplace to cosy up to in winter and ducted air-conditioning to keep you comfortable in summer.

The refreshing swimming pool is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and if you're bringing the kids they will love the full-size outdoor play area and fully enclosed trampoline. There is nothing this property lacks and it is less than 15 minutes to the great restaurants and cellar doors on Wine Country Drive and the famous Vintage Golf course.

TARIFF
Weekend - minimum 2 nights, up to10 guests (adults or children) from $1425 per night. (Thu-Fri or Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun)
Midweek - minimum 2 nights, up to 10 guests (adults or children) from $1069 per night (Mon- Thur)
Extra guests are charged at $121 per person per night.
Children under 13 years are charged at $64 per child per night.
Infants under 2 are free.

Please note that a $40 booking fee is applicable for all bookings made.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit/bond of $1500.00 is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre- authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival, so please ensure the funds are available at this time.

LONGER STAYS
Please contact us for a customised quote for longer stays of 3 nights and over.

NOTES
A 1-night stay may be accepted at discretion of Management within 14 days of the prospective arrival date. A surcharge is applicable on the 1-night stay, this will be calculated by our staff and quoted to you before the booking is confirmed.

Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods require a minimum 3 night stay full weekend rate.

Concert and special event weekends in the Hunter Valley will have a set minimum night requirement to stay and may attract a surcharge.

“We absolutely loved Dalwood! There was so much space for the adults and the kids, plenty of activities for the little ones, the surrounding areas were beautiful and it was just perfect. Everyone commented on how they would love to come again next year. The beds were super comfortable and everything was very clean and tidy. The woodfire pizza oven made for a fun evening with wine and music. Overall would no doubt book again!”

Dalwood was the perfect house for our Easter break. The living and oudoor areas were great as was the kitchen. The availability of a washing machine was also greatly appreciated. The bedding was crisp and white as were the towels. Lovely lavender shower provisions..

Dalwood House was an excellent property that I will definitely stay at again and recommend to others. The booking process and check in process was extremely easy. The furnishings were beautiful and of an extremely high quality, more impressive than in the photos. The house was well stocked with cleaning products and everything you need to stay for a long weekend. The location was excellent too, not too far from the heart of Pokolbin, but very isolated. The property was excellent for 16 people, as the living areas and tables were more than accommodating for this number of guests.

Countryside House Hunter Valley

We had a wonderful time. The house is as you can see in the photos. The children enjoyed a lot the pool, the tumbling, and the playroom. We enjoyed the BBQ and the living room, The tables are the right size for our party of 11. The bedrooms were enough, and there was an extra room we did not use. The number of restrooms is good. There are kitchen appliances that help a lot and the number of cutlery and plates is good. We loved the overall place with kangaroos nearby. We went out to run or walk in the mornings with beautiful surroundings. There are supermarkets very near 10 min. Overall I highly recommend this house

Nice family getaway Specially kids had good time

The property was nice and clean But for the price they charging you expect better. Few things definitely needs some repairs are as below to make it excellent place to stay with family 1. The ensuite sliding door system tin on of the bedrooms wasn't working correctly which we stock in bathroom couple of times 2. The remote for LG surround system wast there and we couldn't use it 3. The paving around pool wasn't stable as the paver drooped in the water couple of time 4. The decking around the pool was very old and sinking and had nails popped out which caused injury to my sun 5. The kitchen cabinet draw systems were not functioning and very hard to open and close with some handles missing 6. Some Flyscreen's were damaged and missing 7. The beds at the 2 bedrooms close to pool table had very noisy springs and couldn't sleep at night

Great getaway

This was our second time staying here. Plenty of room, well equipped kitchen. As it was quite cool the fireplace got a good workout as did the pizza oven. The kids loved the huge trampoline. The home itself is starting to show its age and the cleaning wasn't quite up to scratch.

Great house but short supply of basic household products

Great house for a group of friends. Good sized rooms with comfortable beds and well appointed. Good living spaces. Only negative was the supply of basic products. We had to buy our own dishwashing liquid, paper towels and toilet paper (their supply was minimal) and there were only two tea towel provided, other than that the property managers were very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great family get away with plenty of space for all

The home was very big and spacious. All the amenities were immaculate. The property was beautiful and well kept. Plenty of fire wood to keep all the fires going for the few days we stayed. Improvements could be a fire pit to sit around at night with family and friends to add to the ambiance of this wonderful property. Also the the pizza oven has a number of cracks which makes cooking pizza for lots of people quite difficult, but otherwise, the Dalwood Country House really does have it all and is an amazing place to stay. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay again.
