Come and stay in one of Margaret River's newest chalets. Djarlma (meaning "Forest") Chalet is instantly appealing, purpose-built holiday accommodation. Drive down the laneway, meandering past the old dairy and through the blue gums to this lovely 2 bedroom chalet. Each bedroom has a kingsize bed and ensuite. The large, open living area boasts a large screen LCD TV, blueray dvd player, foxtel, leather lounge suite, modern kitchen and sensational views. The north-facing alfresco area is perfectly positioned to watch the region's spectacular sunsets. Djarlma Chalet is one of Redgate Forest Retreat's accommodation options and is complementary to the popular Maya Homestead a few hundred meters away. Built on a 167 acre property, there are numerous trails through the blue gum plantation and a 50 acre natural bush block to explore.

Relaxing stay

We had the best weekend at Djarlma! We were greeted by our host who had lots of information on surrounding walks and the nature around us. Our dog had a large yard to frolic in. Our daughter loved the garden and the trampoline. The fields surrounding were beautiful and we loved watching the cows in the mornings at breakfast. The house had everything we needed, the beds were so comfortable with plenty of usb and usbc power points which were an added bonus! We didn’t get to use it much as we were out and about but the tv had all the apps you could wish for so our daughter was kept entertained whilst we got ready for each day! We can’t wait to book again.

Best Kept Secret in Margs!!!

Absolutely amazing dog friendly accom in the Witchy southwest! The Owner is wonderful, helpful and very friendly! The property is very clean and PERFECTLY designed for cold or warm days. The beds are comfortable and there are extra blankets and heating if you need it. Would recommend to all to pop down and stay here! Ps - Betty and Wilma, the two highland cows on the property, love Carrots! Betty is a bit more fussy, but she comes around. Thanks again for the wonderful stay! Would recommend to all!

Not long enough!!

We have stayed at Redgate Forest Retreat before and will do so again. Accommodation is great, has everything you could possibly want including fabulously comfortable beds. Property is beautifully peaceful. Wonderful to sit outside and watch the sheep in the paddock (who also seemed to like watching us back!!) Loved the highland cattle who look like they came out of the same mould as our cairn terrier, Fred. Terrific to be able to bring Fred with us and to take him for walks through the plantation (the highlight of his stay). Retreat is well located for accessing everything else Margaret River area has to offer. Thanks Sheila Elisabeth, John and Fred

Awesome tranquil place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Redgate Forest Retreat. The fact we could bring our dogs with us was a bonus. The house and surrounds were ideal and we could walk the dogs through the forest. The dogs also enjoyed the garden and visiting cows! Coffee at Yardbyrd was an ideal start to the day before touring the area. Margaret River was only a few minutes away too. Thanks Sheila, we'll be back.

General feedback

Accommodation is excellent, however, it is not geared up for cold winter weather. A spare blanket would come in handy. There was only one extra blanket. Could do with a "Firepit" outside as it is nice to sit outdoors at night, but a bit chilly during winter and spring. There is certainly enough firewood to a firepit going for a few hours. Please accept this as a positive feedback

A piece of paradise in Margaret River

The property is heavenly presented in a tranquil farm, where you can breath the fresh air, watching the trees in the beautiful horizon until the cows coming home, literally! The rooms are clean and welcoming, the beds are comfortable, the trampoline are a fine touch which provides so much fun for the kids and kids' parents too. Walking among the trees in the forest, listening to the birds singing and watching the cows peacefully grazing along the green pasture with the backdrop of a pink sunset were magic! Nowhere else i want to be once you are there! Only question I have is there is an extra person charge when there are two bedrooms, we are party of four.
